I wish they had ice machines on the floor. Wish they had room service. Those are small things though. The hotel is very nice! The employees were attentive. And they have THE BEST breakfast buffet I have EVER been to at a hotel! I would definitely stay there again. Great location!

I and co-worker booked TWO rooms each for three days for business. The housekeeping told us that the free bottle water was only given on the first night of checking-in and no more for the next two days. The sound proof of the room doors is bad as people talking in the corridor can be heard inside the room, causing noise and disturbance to sleep at night. The room doors shut themselves automatically but the door drums are so forceful that the doors are shut with loud banging noise each time. The other guests did not care and let the doors shut loudly, scaring us in the middle of the night and early in the morning. On the check-out date, despite the no-disturb sign was hanged outside, house-keeping staff still knocked on the door wanting us moving out (even it was 30 minutes before the official check-out time). For the price changed there may be other hotels in the downtown area with better service and better staff training.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar Chicago en diciembre 2024 y a pesar del frío nos sorprendió lo bien climatizado que se encontraba el hotel desde el lobby hasta las habitaciones. La atención del personal fue excelente desde nuestra llegada, todas las áreas se encontraban en perfectas condiciones y muy limpias. El bufete fue bueno y completo, para nosotros cumplía su función. La habitación tenía un buen tamaño y se encontraba muy limpia a nuestra llegada, además nos recibieron con una botella de vino espumoso porque estábamos celebrando nuestro aniversario. Si bien en esos días no pudimos acceder al Rooftop bar debido a las condiciones del clima, pudimos disfrutar de varias bebidas y pláticas agradables con el personal del bar en el lobby y otros huéspedes. La ubicación es excelente, a solo unos pasos de Magnificent Mile y a una cuadra de Starbucks Reserve, puedes llegar fácilmente a varios puntos de la ciudad en su sistema de transporte local al cual puedes acceder rápido y fácil desde el hotel. Súper recomendado!!

The Riu Plaza is less than a block off Michigan Avenue near many shops and restaurants. Property is newly renovated and very clean. Staff were polite and well-informed. They seemed genuinely excited to talk about the amenities of the property. The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of options and quality ingredients. I would stay again when in Chicago.
