Sonder by Marriott was an excellent choice for a stay in downtown Chicago. My little family and I felt safe in a well decorated, maintained, and clean apartment-like setting. We also requested a travel infant bed, and within a half hour, an employee delivered our request. Everything about the lodging was perfect except for the parking. We had been under the guise there was free-parking. However, there was only street parking available. That in itself was not an issue except you can not park there if events are occurring at Solider Field. There was an event at Solider and you needed a special pass to park there- which we did not know, nor know how to access this pass. We ended up being fined seventy five dollars. It is not the end of the world nor does it take away from the excellent lodging. I believe there needs to be more clarification for parking options for guests in the future. Despite the parking issue, we will look to book Sonder by Marriott for any future stays.

Nightmare Experience! Should be avoided at all costs. Was provided the wrong unit (room type was not what I booked), took 2 hours to get into the correct unit (stood in hallway while agent on the phone tried to get the door code to work), at one point was asked to provide proof the code they provided was not working. There are no staff on premise to help. Finally got into the correct unit and there were no sheets for the pull out couch. The pull out couch mattress was dirty. The closet doors did not close. Sheets could not be delivered until the next day. There is no mechanism to speak to someone with authority, all agents are working from home and do not have the tools they need to resolve issues in a timely manner…took 2 hours for them to give me a door code that worked. Stay away from the Sonder South Wabash!!

They never gave me the access code. The customer will run you around in circles for hours with no solution I sat outside for 6 hours infront of the room door on my birthday after the customer gave me various wrong entry codes. Worst experience of my life

Booked this trip back in April through Expedia — flight and 3 nights’ stay, paid in full. That should’ve been the end of it. Instead, Sonder kept bombarding me with emails saying “complete your reservation.” Fearing I’d lose my booking, I entered my card info. That mistake cost me another $468 (the cost of the entire stay). I’ve been trying to get that duplicate charge resolved for months. Communication from Sonder has been nothing short of a nightmare — slow, confusing, and mostly unhelpful. As of today, it’s still unresolved. A couple of days before arrival, I get an email saying we were assigned a 2-bedroom unit with no balcony — completely different from the 1 bed/1 bath with balcony I booked. There was no point in arguing since there’s no front desk, no staff on site, and no way to resolve anything in real time. The unit itself was dirty on arrival — not at all what you’d expect from a company that sells itself as modern and streamlined. With no front desk, you’re stuck with their clunky email system, and “support” feels like shouting into the void. Bottom line: I paid twice, got the wrong room, had zero real support, and had all the drama before the trip not been a thing I would have pushed the cleanliness and room change under the rug. but it just added on to frustration and I will never book with sonder again..if you're concerned about bookings, or any sort of accountability, avoid Sonder.

Great views, comfortable beds, but shades were broken for days and it doesnt easily sleep 6. The ciuch was awful and only 1 person could sleep on it and he hated it.

It was okay, the pullout bed was HORRIBLE!!! There isn’t much parking. There is a no cancellation. There was a lot of noise, people yelling in the street. The TV didn’t work, remote was out of batteries. I wouldn’t recommend for a families.

Close to soldier field and northerly island for events, instructions for access were communicated very well and easy to understand. The only complaint I have is the sofa bed, the mattress is not conducive to sleep on.

This property was walking distance to anything you would need for a great trip to Chicago. From access to Soldier field as a concert venue to a Chicago style deep dish pizza. Check in was literally passcodes to building and unit. We are talking a 1 bedroom apartment complete with kitchen. Our unit had 360 degree floor to roof windows for lots of natural light and great views of our part of the south loop. Can't wait to book our next stay.
