the place they told was a good place to eat. well it wasn't then they gave us a list of places to eat. all were out of the way. then we go around the corner just about every place u can thing of was right there less then 2 miles from us. if you are going to give people a list of places to eat it would be nice to include those SUPER CLOSE. other then that a nice to stay.

Stayed 3 nights last week at the Sonesta ES Suites Waukegan. Great lcation with some entertainment and dining in close proximity. Approx 10 minutes from the Naval training facility, which was convenient. My room was a 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen & fireplace... Plenty of room for 5 of us (2 queen beds and a pull out sofa). The facility is in the process of some much needed repairs or updates. Apparently the phones were down for 3 weeks and still weren't working when we arrived. If you needed the front desk you had to go downstairs instead of calling. We were on the second floor, apparently the third floor people above us were fighting and the entire night we heard yelling and things being slammed around. Didn't make for a good night's rest! The hotel was generic, basically clean, and I thought the beds were comfy. My kids stayed an extra night and moved into a smaller room, the chairs in the eating area, had pleather peeling off, these rooms had a hot plate, fridge, & microwave. In trying to arrange the extra nights stay, I was surprised the overly friendly lady from the front desk, was unable to give us a deal, or even a decent rate. Instead, she told us to book it online for the night and it would be cheaper. Felt to me, like she couldn't be bothered. I most likely would not stay here again, although it served it's purpose. I would generally feel more comfortable knowing I'll getting good customer service with a Hilton or Marriott owned chain brand.

My honest opinion i believe the property can be great which However they allowed me to check in early after a long drive I really appreciated that. The door was lose when i arrived they fixed it the room had an odor AFTER cleaning as i normally do at every stay under the bed and sofa was filthu and the window seal wasnt clean had bug they cleaned it But the point of the matter is i had to tell them The area is nice Oh for my trouble the gave me 15 dollar credit to use at there store They do serve breakfast which is okay it was my first time at this hotel... Would i stay again im not sure. They did fix the problems when i spoke on it..

All around wonderful but for 1 thing: there was an oil-based air freshener in the room that filled it with, to me, was a sickeningly sweet odor. It triggered my asthma and when I grabbed it to toss it into the hallway overnight, the oil aggravated my eczema. Next step: open the 4 windows to the trees and birds outside. And turned on the fan. But no worries. Staff took care of it. Just surprised this lovely place would use such a thing, because the room was clean. The bed, allergen free and comfy. Good breakfast options, too. Overall a good return for the money.

The property is situated in a good area, and the exterior of the building is clean. The room itself is decent, but there is nearby construction, which makes it somewhat noisy. Unfortunately, the bed is uncomfortable; it's hard, squeaks a lot, and you can feel the metal frame. The breakfast is very minimal; we only ate once because the food did not look appealing.
