We got an excellent special rate which is why we booked. It was also a convenient location for our Saturday morning activity near Canterbury University & not too far from our Friday night activity. Despite the windows & curtains being closed we found it very noisy with cars dragging off on the road outside. Our room faced Deans Avenue & Hagley Park, so the view was good Saturday morning. However, the car noise dragging off on the road when we arrived back at just before 10pm & tried to get to sleep disturbed us. Also, the very noisy people outside disturbed sleep. The bed was comfortable. Our room was advertised as having a toaster, but we could not find it. The on/off/temperature control handle in the shower was very stiff & hard to adjust. We could not remove the handheld shower from its cradle. The staff we encountered at reception when checking in & elsewhere Friday afternoon were very nice. Car parking was some way away on the roof. There were conflicting instructions as to where to park. Inside the lift a notice said level G, the notice at reception said level F.
