The stay was actually fine. The furniture inside the rooms and in the lobby are very worn with noticeable marks of wear and tear but nothing that makes the furniture or the room unusable.
The bed was clean, the bathroom was clean, the sheets and linens were clean so overall the stay was fine. Even though my stay was there for almost 10 days, I had to get the room key recoded nearly every day, so that was a little annoying. Also, I don’t like that they don’t clean the room every day… No one even ever asked if I wanted the room serviced. I constantly had to ask for new towels and for the trash to be emptied and little things like that, including never once was the coffee and cups replaced for the in-room coffee maker.
It just seems like they’re trying to save money by not having enough staff to do all the things that need to be done so we as guests are kind of left our own devices to sort out some basic things.
Was I unhappy enough to complain? No, and that’s why this review is honest… And clear. The rate for the room was low for San Diego, but high for Chula Vista… Especially given the aforementioned “issues“. I would really only recommend this hotel if you have little or no other choice… Or maybe you’re feeling kind of desperate. I think they can do better, to be honest.
7 out of 10 stars… ⭐️. And that’s a gift.
Thank you for the stay,
