No verbal description or picture can do justice to the real thing, but Rick's description of the property is spot on. They have really thought of everything you could possibly want or need for your stay. I'd like to say it sucked so I could keep this location all to myself, lol, but that would be a lie and a huge disservice to our amazing host! We will be back! Don't know when, but we will be back. “A beautiful and well equipped log cabin on the side of a mountain. Very comfortable bed! The yard and the flower baskets were well cared for. Saw hummingbirds and Phoenix moths each morning. Turkeys visited a couple of times. We loved the different outdoor sitting areas. The breakfast nook was a special to eat looking out at the beautiful vista. You can also sit in living room and look out and see the mountains. Ouray is known as Little Switzerland of America. Surrounded by majestic mountains.……

“Jim was excellent at communicating directions and gave us a warm welcome upon our arrival. He has a wealth of knowledge about the area after living in Lake City for so long. Restaurants were within walking distance, and the house was in the middle of town so very convenient. We would definitely stay here again next time we are in Lake City. Also dog friendly was a big plus for us as we travel with our dogs so much. ”

“Jim’s property is the perfect place to stay in Lake City. We were only 3 people but this would be a great spot for a family gathering. I grew up in a historical part of CT so this home took me back to my childhood surroundings. We rode motorcycles there and Jim offered to bring over 3 pieces of wood for our kickstands to park in the wet gravel. He really went above and beyond and was a great host! Plenty of coffee and things to cook with if that’s important to you!”
