Beware. I recently had a very negative experience staying at the Ivy Rooms. I was double charged for my stay and have been unable to obtain a refund from the Ivy Rooms despite several weeks of attempting to contact the hotel. I booked my stay on Expedia and despite the fact that the booking indicated that I would be charged at the property at the time of my stay, a charge for the balance of my stay was issued to my credit card months before the stay. I was not aware of this charge as I do not always monitor my credit card statements as closely as I should. Shortly after check in on the day of the stay, the hotel employee who checked us in knocked on our door indicating that we had not been charged through Expedia so we needed to provide a form of payment. I was taking a phone call at the time so my friend provided his credit card as we were unaware that my card had previously been charged. The charge to my credit card months before was issued to "Lamplight Restaurant Clifden", while my friend's card was charged to "Ivy Rooms Clifden" for the same amount. Neither Expedia or our credit card companies have been able to help us given the fact that two separate cards were charged by two different businesses, although they operate from the same address/building. The Ivy Rooms has not responded to any phone calls (their message machine is full as well), emails, or direct messages through Expedia. I would highly recommend staying away from this untrustworthy business.
