I recently stayed at Harborside and, while I have had excellent service in the past, I was disappointed with the dining experience during my recent visit for Mother's Day.
There was no clear communication that the restaurant would not be serving guests during brunch hours unless they had a reservation. Many guests, myself included, were unaware of this and left without dining options. After the brunch, we were told that dining would resume at various times—first at 3:00 PM, then 4:00 PM, then again at 6:00 PM—only to find that food service remained unavailable.
I understand that this annual event is important for the hotel, and I respect the need for staff to take breaks. However, better planning and communication would have prevented this frustrating situation. Guests should be informed ahead of time about changes to dining availability, allowing them to make alternate arrangements. Additionally, the response from management felt dismissive rather than accommodating, which further added to the disappointment.
I believe this situation could have been handled more effectively, and I hope that future Mother's Day events include clearer communication and contingency plans for all guests. I appreciate your time and would welcome any feedback on how this concern will be addressed moving forward.
Sincerely,
LaVonda
