This property is located in an area where many old, beautiful homes are being restored, but it is also about a half mile from what appeared to be a soup kitchen. The town appears to have somewhat of a homeless problem, but it would probably be safe enough during the day. This is a residential area with no restaurant, so you'll need a car.
My two biggest disappointments with this property were that there was no breakfast and no staff. It could be a great bed & breakfast, and maybe that is the ultimate goal, but it seems like they got it barely finished enough to rent out some rooms to finance the rest of the project. That's okay, but it is reflected in my rating. It is not a five-star yet.
The furnishings appear to be a mish-mash collection with no cohesive decor theme. I'm not picky, but I booked an inn with the expectation that it would be a step above a hotel.
There was no one to greet us. The doors were locked, and we had not received an email giving us check-in instructions. When I called, I had to leave a voicemail. A lady called me back promptly and apologized for not having sent check-in instructions. I understand mistakes happen, but even when we got inside, the place didn't have a welcoming feel. She upgraded us to a large suite, which was nice, but we didn't need the extra bedroom with twin beds, there were no comfy chairs to sit in to watch TV, we had to crawl on the floor to plug in our charging cables, and the hot tub was not functioning.
