This hotel is relatively new and isn’t a great location on the east side of Grandview. It’s not really walkable to Ohio State, but it’s very close.
The hotel is conveniently located in the same parking area as cap city diner, which is a longtime favorite restaurant. It’s also close to several other eating and shopping areas. The rooms were Aloft typical. Clean, reasonably appointed (although the end tables are still too small) and everything functioned fine.
The staff did a good job making sure at least one of our rooms was ready for us at check-in. It was an extraordinarily busy weekend when we arrived, and they were very apologetic that both rooms were not fully prepared. When we returned to the front desk, they quickly got us checked into our second room, and the remainder of the day was uneventful.
The only complaints we had about the property were that the water pressure was very low and a very strange elevator function where you have to choose your room and scan your key card to get anywhere beyond the lobby floor. I understand it’s for security so that people aren’t just randomly coming off the street and going up to the guest room floors, but it was a little unnerving to be in an elevator that lacks any buttons to select your floor.
We only stayed one day, but the value was good and would probably stay there again.
