The Fin and Fig Farmhouse is the original White Oak Mountain homestead dating back to 1890. Sitting on over 5 private acres, this luxuriously upgraded property will have you in awe with the 100 mile views! This mountaintop retreat is located just 10 minutes from Columbus, 30 minutes from Asheville, and under 2 hours from Charlotte.
The great room exudes vaulted ceilings with a wood burning cookstove. The fully updated kitchen boasts high-end stainless-steel appliances including a gas cooktop, built in wall oven and a spacious island, perfect for whipping up your favorite meals.
The first floor MBR features a king sized bed, fully appointed bathroom, a sitting area with original 1800's fireplace, and accordion glass doors opening onto the screened in porch which allow you to enjoy the fresh mountain air as you sleep! The porch has a brand new hot tub with views of the valley below, and a twin sized swinging bed to relax and appreciate the sunrise.
This adorable farmhouse has 4 guest rooms and a separate log cabin with a kitchenette for a total of 5 sleeping spaces. There are several other sleeping options with pull out sofas, etc. The upper deck is the spot for stargazing, listening to the waterfall, and looking down onto the twinkling lights of the countryside below. Plenty of options for hiking and biking nearby, or fly fishing and tubing on the Green River.

Pets: This home and property are dog-friendly, welcoming your furry friends! There is a non-refundable Pet Fee of $130, allowing up to 2 dogs. If you'd like to bring a third dog, an additional fee of $50+tax applies.

Early Check In and/or Late Check Out may be possible, depending on cleaning schedules and other reservations. If it is possible, there may be an additional fee that would be determined based on the time that you wish to check in or out and the seasonal rates.

Family getaway

Truly enjoyed this property and all the views that came with it. The road up to the house was a little precarious, but nothing we couldn’t manage. I would recommend this property to anyone!

Disappointed Listing

Our stay at this property with friends and kids was unfortunately subpar. From the moment we arrived, we encountered issues that made the experience far from relaxing.First, none of the extra bedding was clean—we had to wash it all upon arrival. There were only 9 bath towels for our group of 11, and the additional towels provided after I reached out smelled like smoke, requiring another wash. The guest house was infested with ladybugs, which was unpleasant, and the ladder to the loft was broken and unsafe to use. Out of the four TVs advertised, only two worked.For a five-night stay with a large group, the supplies provided were laughably inadequate: just two rolls of paper towels, six rolls of toilet paper, and only a handful of washcloths. When I contacted the host, they offered no real solutions other than dropping off those smoky towels.Additionally, the listing failed to mention the treacherous road leading to the property. A 4WD vehicle is absolutely necessary, and this should have been clearly stated to avoid potential hazards with inclement weather, which we encountered. Overall, I felt the listing was misleading, and the lack of care or effort to remedy our concerns was disappointing. We will not be returning.

Great for our horse show vacay

This is our second stay at this lovely property we love it! It feels like home. The inside of the house was spotless and so clean, but we found some chips on the porch and some droppings in the guest cabin. I had a maintenance question while I was there and the staff was amazing!!!! Thank you all!!!

Beautiful property!

What a gorgeous and unique property - we really enjoyed our stay there. While the drive up the mountain is a crazy one, you are rewarded with spectacular views! The home was clean and well appointed - I was blown away by all of the kitchen amenities, and the home was conveniently located to TIEC and shopping staples. I can’t wait to return to the area to horse show again, and when I do I will, without hesitation, rebook at Fin and Fig!

Beautiful home with a spectacular view!

The drive was stressful with all of the hairpin turns and switch backs but once you got to the house it was wonderful! Not sure if we would have tried the drive if it was raining (or snowing!) The house was exactly as described and was just beautiful. Great communication with the owner!

Great house - scary road getting there.

We all had a great time using the property. Plenty of space to move around. Only negatives were slanty hallway upstairs & we could have used an extra bathroom upstairs. Had to take turns. Otherwise, great house. The road going up was scary, especially at night with no lights or guardrails.

Mountain Top Perfection

The Fin & Fig Farmhouse property was magnificent!! The pictures do not do this property justice. If you're looking for a wonderful excluded large property to relax and escape the everyday chaos life can present, then this is the place for you and your spouse or Family & Friend. Plenty of space to roam in solitude while still offering multiple gathering places to sit chat and enjoy the 100 mile views. The ability to bring our fur babies was much appreciated and I think they enjoyed the property just as much as we did. This will be a return visit for us!! We even shot a Cooking video for our YouTube channel, "Cooking with the Frisby's" because it presented a wonderful Fall back drop for the episode. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPPOINTED!!

Wonderful stay with family!

Loved the location although the road to town can be a little tricky. The house had everything we needed especially since we cooked most meals there and some of us had to work remotely. Beds very comfortable and enough space to spread out. Would definitely return if we had the opportunity.

Relaxation Perfection!

My friends and I rented this place for a long holiday weekend. We got to escape our every days lives and drive up the beautiful mountains to a slice a heaven in n earth. This house is gorgeous and filled with the most beautiful details to make you feel like you are living in a magazine. The kitchen was perfect for all our family style meals and we spent the most time out on the back porch watching the fog roll in only to clear for the most romantic view. We all took naps, we all played games, did puzzles laughed and felt so recharged coming home. Thank you for sharing this amazing home - we will be back!

Peaceful Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful farmhouse! The house was comfortable and inviting and the kitchen was one of the most well stocked kitchens we've ever had at a rental. We made all of our meals there and had everything we needed. We loved spending time on the porches relaxing and enjoying the view. The neighborhood is friendly and welcoming. We met some wonderful people and enjoyed talking with them on our walks. We also saw several deer and a bear while we were there. We had a great stay and would highly recommend this home! The owners have gone above and beyond to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

This property exceeded my expectations. I felt at home immediately. All you need is food and beverage of choice. Close to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Enjoyed hiking, boating and kayaking. Beds are comfortable, great quality kitchen appliances, pot and pans etc… The screen porch and upper deck is where we stayed, enjoying the views, stars etc. The hot tub accommodates 8 nicely. The road up was steep but after driving it a couple times it was second nature. I drive a two wheeled SUV, and she handled it fine. Highly recommend and will visit again. The neighbor next to the creek was very friendly and can tell you more about the property if you catch him out walking his collie.

Luxury in the mountains

This beautiful and well-appointed home was perfect for our long holiday weekend. We spent a lot of time on the screened deck, with the hot tub, rocking chairs, porch bed swing and fabulous view. We also enjoyed walking our pups around the lovely property, lounging in the relaxing living areas and gathering in the kitchen. The home and cabin were both spotlessly clean, and the host's thoughtful attention to every detail was evident. All that said, the drive up to the cabin was terrifying for this Florida flatlander, and it only got a little less frightening with each day's descent and return.
