The cleaning staff is kind and professional, while the reception staff is unprofessional and poorly trained. Upon arrival, despite the room being already fully paid through Expedia, I was asked by a bossy lady at the reception for a credit card for 'security' reasons, which was not mentioned in the booking terms. When I said I didn't have one, she insisted that I contact a friend in Italy to provide their credit card details (???). I was told that without a card, I would not be allowed into the room (fully paid in advance!) and would not receive a refund if I left. Finding myself in a suburban area of Copenhagen in the late afternoon, I asked where I could find a tourist offce, but the same receptionist said she didn't know and "to llok it up online". In the end, to avoid being left without accommodation, I had to give them a debit card. Their tone was almost mocking. Once I received the room badge, I discovered it did not work. Upon returning to reception, I was told that for sure I had chosen the wrong room, but they later admitted the badge was faulty. On the day of checkout, I paid cash for a rented bike, but in return was given absolutely no receipt, nor was one sent by email. Quite strange and very questionable. Thay just took the money and that was that! The staff appears nervous and untrained, and lthey completely lack awareness of their role. A terrible experience. Never happened in Sweden or Norway.
