Diamond in the Ruff is filled with all the charm and attention to detail you are looking for in an Outer Banks vacation home. The interiors of this five-bedroom pristine vacation home are spacious and bright. Along with the three main suites, you'll adore the relaxing hot tub and the numerous community amenities are just a short stroll away. These include a boat ramp, four tennis courts, a basketball court, and a playground.

Diamond in the Ruff is just 1500 yards to the beach and convenient to all Corolla points of interest including shopping, dining, water sports, The Whalehead Club, and the Corolla Light Lighthouse. Your family dog is welcome to join the fun!

Ground Level: Private pool with hot tub, laundry closet with washer/dryer, bedroom with daybed, trundle, and full bathroom.

Mid Level: Main suite with queen bed, private bathroom and deck access, swinging daybed on the deck, bedroom with two twin beds, bedroom with queen bed and private bath, and a main entrance foyer.

Top Level: Living area, kitchen with all appliances, breakfast bar with seating for three, dining area with seating for eight, a main suite with a king bed, private bath and deck access, and powder room.

Amenities: Private unheated pool, hot tub, outside shower, parking for three vehicles, WiFi, video/book library, four TVs, two DVDs. Beach Access: 1,500 yards.

What's nearby: Four tennis courts, basketball courts, boat ramp, playground, and multi-use trail for biking/walking.

THINGS TO KNOW
For January and February bookings, please contact the property management company to ensure the hot tub is available.
This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically.
Private Pool Dates: The private pool is open May 1st through October 15th. The private pool is unavailable outside of these dates.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.




Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Good location not far from beach within walking distance. House does not accommodate 12 as it was listed, we made it work with the help from Ms. Barbara she was very polite, caring and made sure we had everything to make our stay was pleasurable. I’m aware the property was pet friendly the carpet caused have been cleaner. All in all we had a great stay.

Potential

We first arrived at the home we were very excited. But as we started walking through the home we started noticing things. First off, the carpets are stained up badly especially going upstairs. There was a nail head sticking out of one of the landings on the stairs and we didn't notice it until my son stepped on it. We were looking out of the glass door going up the stairs and it was absolutely covered in dead gnats. I understand insects and bugs happen but you could tell this glass door had not been cleaned in a long time. Next thing we noticed was none of the tvs worked. They would come on but they would freeze up or not connect to our hotspot since Spectrum Internet was out because of the outage, but the tvs still didn't work well at all. Then we went to make dinner and the dishes, pots, pans, bowls were so disgusting. The dishwasher was absolutely FULLof dishes when we opened it up. You could tell it hadn't been emptied and dishes had kept being added and then the dishwasher would be ran and instead of emptying it, more dishes were added We then had to wash pots, pans, dishes before we used them and then afterwards by hand. We went to use the pool which was nice but the pool chairs were green and dingy with holes in them. We opened up the pillow storage box on the porch and the pillows had black mold and mildew all over them. We moved the couches in the living room to look for something and Yuck. Manager came while we were gone but didn't call or come back. Disappointed!

Good, fun property. Poor check-in/out process.

Property was simple and clean. Pool and hot tub were a huge plus and in excellent condition. Location was great as it's a short bike ride to Food Lion and several ice cream shops. Neighborhood is quiet. Only negative is they wouldn't let us check in before 4 pm even though was no one there the day prior. With us arriving to town around noon it would have been nice to be able to get to the house even 2 hours earlier in order for us to get settled in. Also wouldn't let us check out an hour later when it was storming out, and there was no one coming in behind us.

Nice dog friendly home

Nice clean home with room for larger group. Hot tub/pool area was nice big area to visit while the kids swim plus had a grill for outdoor cooking. Kitchen was fully stocked with cookware. Open living room kitchen area was nice for visiting and eating. Suggestion would be bigger trash can. With so many people we had to take the trash out often. Also bedrooms could use mattress pads or updated mattress. They were pretty hard. Location of house was close driving distance for shopping and Food Lion for groceries. Beach was short driving distance. There is a lot of steps for older people. So be aware of that when booking but it was nice to have some separation when needed. We enjoyed our stay plus being able to bring our dog.

The location and property itself were absolutely fantastic. It had everything we needed and then some and what it didn't have we were able to pick up at the grocery store less than a minute away. It was very clean and spacious we absolutely loved it!

Family Week at Corolla Summer 2023

Plenty of room for 10 people. The kitchen was well equipped. The pool and the hot top were cleaned twice while we were staying at the house (6 nights). The house could use some deep cleaning. There were spider webs in many rooms. One thing to consider is the distance to the beach. It is a hike to get to the beach so be aware especially if you have kids. Also, there were no instructions in the house for things like trash pick-up days (Wednesdays & Saturdays). Overall we all enjoyed our stay :)

Beautiful Home, Interesting Lack of Amenities

Overall we LOVED the actual house, the location, the neighborhood. It was a great house to have young kids as we could all hang out on the top floor while the kids took naps/went to bed. My biggest critique was the complete lack of amenities. I grew up going to the Jersey Shore and it is common practice for basic amenities like toilet paper/paper towels/hand soap/trash bags to be provided. We arrived at 8 pm and had exactly 3 toilet paper rolls total for a house with 5 bathrooms. I called the property manager and they confirmed that is all we get. No soap, nothing. Definitely frustrating to not be able to do something as simple as wash my hands on arrival to a home I paid nearly $4000 for. Aside from that, I do feel that there were so many great things that WERE provided, such as board games and beach accessories. It is hard to know if this is the owner's decision to deprive guests of amenities or the property manager deciding for them. My only other mention is that the beach is not very walkable as you cannot really cut through the housing community. We anticipated being able to walk there so that was a little disappointing. That said, it is doable, just a detour to get there and would take much more time than driving.

Great location! Close to the beautiful beach, close to stores/food. Really nice having the pool to swim in later in the day, a little small but still enjoyable. Only complaints...it could of been cleaner, the fridge wouldn't stay cold and could use some updating. Overall great trip, the location and beach made up for the other stuff.

Great Place to Stay with a Large Group!

We stayed here with our friends and their families and it was wonderful! Although the home wasn't perfect, there was some broken furniture etc, the layout of the house was perfect for us and the pool and hot tub were great! The location was also wonderful! We would definitely stay here again.

First Time OBXers

This was our first time in OBX. Free parking at the beach entrances was nice but would have loved to have walked over which you can do but it would be a bit of a hike with all your beach needs. A car was needed to get to shops etc. but the drive wasn’t too far. The pool and hot tub were pluses with 4 of our 7 days ( minus 2 driving days so total of 1 1/2 nice days) of rain. We swam and used the hot tub despite the rain. Played lots of games and put together the beautiful turtle puzzle ( warning a piece is missing but fun anyway). Nice house overall with perfect size, rooms and bathrooms for our family. Thank you to our hosts.

Really Enjoyable

Left gloomy Cleveland Ohio for fun in the sun at the OBX. Threw a trip together kind of last minute and the whole process was seamless. From VRBO to Vacassa payments were made and good communication was had the entire trip if needed. The house everything we expected and more, no issues and property was well taken care of inside and out. This easily accommodated 4 adults 5 children 13-3yo and a dog.

Overall, it was a very nice stay

The location of the home was very nice - a short walk to a pier that was teaming with turtles, a snake and an otter. It was less than a mile to the public beach. The home was nicely kept. Only mild "complaints" were: the home was pretty clean, but not totally set up nicely - pool chairs was scattered, dishwasher was left full, and there were some cobb webs. Also, the checkout was not totally clear - we weren't sure whether we should stack all linens, leave them lay, etc. Not a big deal, but we wanted to make sure we left the home with the next folks in mind. Overall, a nice stay and worth the price of admission. Glad to be able to take our dog, as well. (He loved it most of all!)

Perfect for us and our two dogs

Great quiet location. It was our first time in Corolla NC and it won’t be our last. Our dogs loved the beach and to run around the pool. The hot tub was a nice way to end the night. We look forward to booking this same house next year.

GOOD LOCATION

Bathrooms need updating. Rugs need good cleaning or replace. Midge bugs (look like mosquitos) redsidue all over the exterior door screens and door frames. Looked like mold. Should have been cleaned before we arrived. Inspected by maintenance and he said house should be power washed. Best for eight not 10 or 12 people. Four great bedrooms. Fifth ground level with a day bed. Selected this house because it is pet friendly. On reservation entered pets. Paid full rental cost and after paying was told there was a $20.00 pet fee per night for each dog plus fees and taxes. While we were there I checked the listing again and their pet policy said pet costs included in rental cost. I called the rental office and after a short wait was told I did not note pets on the reservation. I sure did. Why would I rent a pets welcome place if I didn't have a pet. In spite of it all we had a wonderful time there.

Problem

Everything was good except problem with AC. It wasn’t the air problem but the management company lying to me. They said we would have someone call within an hour. This happened twice and then then next morning the repair company called me and insinuated I was to pay for repair. This was unacceptable.

Clean house with nice features

Responsive rental Company, nice community, pool a tad small but that kept it a nice temperature! Bar and fridge by pool we’re a nice convenience and l the bedrooms. Nice house to vacation at- clean and no issues!
