The check in process was over a “Zoom” kiosk computer in an unlocked cubicle room. It was slow and awkward, it was hard to understand the person and she had trouble understanding me. There is no security, no staff available. I arrived about 11pm. There was no parking near my room, I walked alone across the first building parking area by the picnic tables with the girls with their Devil’s Lettuce, to the 2nd building where my room was.
The coverlet was dirty with what looked like shoe dirt and the bottom sheet was dirty with what was hopefully coffee or rust stains. Of course, no one is here to help so I called the hotel reservation office in Wisconsin. They had a 2 double bed room they can give me for the same price but that’s a downgrade from a king room, so it isn’t the favor they wanted it to be. I’d much rather have a king than a full(eye roll)!
I walked back to the little kiosk room with all my luggage in tow in the dark, skunky girls gone by then, alone, cried a little, got the new key, and walked back to the same building as before to my new room, in the dark, alone.
The TV remote doesn’t change the channels or show a menu, so here I vent instead of zoning out to something mindless.
I was here a couple months ago and it was acceptable then.
