This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. When we arrived at our room, we quickly realized the air conditioning was broken—something that neither Expedia nor the hotel warned us about. It was a hot day, and the room was on the third floor, facing the sun. It was completely uncomfortable and unlivable.
We were only in the room for about an hour before calling the front desk to say we couldn’t stay. They gave us a phone number for someone named Barry, who seemed confused to be hearing from a guest and said he’d contact another manager. We never heard back. When the front desk followed up, they said there was nothing they could do because we booked through Expedia. We asked for another room, even just one on a cooler side of the building, and were told that wasn’t possible.
The next day, while looking for a missing bracelet, we discovered a used condom wrapper behind the nightstand. That was absolutely disgusting and confirmed that the room had not been properly cleaned.
To make matters worse, I had requested a late checkout for 12pm, but at 11:58am the front desk called asking when I’d be leaving. This felt unnecessary and added to an already frustrating experience.
I travel frequently and have stayed at many Days Inn locations, but this experience has completely changed my opinion. I will never stay at a Days Inn again and will strongly warn others about the lack of cleanliness, poor communication, and complete disregard for guest comfort and service at th
