The Grounds at Hocking Hills

The Grounds at Hocking Hills is the perfect getaway for large families, groups and company retreats located in the heart of Hocking Hills. Sleeps up to 12 guests. Enjoy modern amenities without compromising cozy cabin vibes and unobstructed forest and valley views. At our property, enjoy open concept living space, wood-burning fireplace, full kitchen, natural light, year-round hot tub, full-stocked pond with catch and release fishing, seasonal in-ground heated pool, and vast outdoor patio and fire pit. Pool open from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. 5 min drive from Ash Cave. Many outdoor activities located nearby. Fully renovated in 2022, this home offers a relaxing and comfortable experience for guests. The master suite includes breathtaking views, gas fireplace, queen bed and private ensuite bathroom with double sinks, soaking tub and separate shower. Three more bedrooms in the home share a bathroom with a shower. Off of the main living space in the four season room, take in panoramic views of the property with an optional pull out sofa. Guests access to washer & dryer and 2-car garage with additional parking on paved driveway. Don't miss out on this peaceful, secluded home!

Dining Room: Includes 8-person custom built live-edge table, credenza with movies and games.

Living Room 2: Optional bedroom with French doors includes a queen pull-out sofa, ceiling fan, and panoramic views.

Laundry Room: Includes washer and dryer and 2 full-size pantries


GARAGE:
Includes 2-car attached garage with large driveway for additional parking, corn hole, and additional firewood for guest use.


EXTERIOR:
Patio: Includes 4-burner gas grill (propane included), outdoor sectional, screened-in dining area, year-round 8-person hot tub, and seasonal in-ground heated pool with slide
Fire Pit: Includes 8 Adirondack chairs.
Pond: Fully-stocked catch-and-release pond with picnic table
Pool: Large, heated pool with shallow end and stairs for entry as well as a deep end with waterslide. Open Memorial Day through September.

Note - the exterior of the property is under surveillance for the safety of our guests, monitoring the following areas: garage, front door, driveway, barn area, pool, hot tub, and fire-pit area. They will be on during your stay. Tampering with the devices is prohibited.


BASEMENT:
At this time, guests are not permitted in the basement area of the house as we are currently renovating. The basement door is locked with a sign stating "Employees Only".

Great house & amenities

Stayed here with a group of friends for our annual girls trip! The house was perfect, clean and comfy. Easy check in/out. Had some questions during our stay, which were answered promptly! Pool with slide was the highlight! Would definitely stay again

Fun and peaceful hocking hills getaway

My family and I celebrated my birthday at this beautiful and private home in hocking hills. We loved the pool and hot tub and made most of our meals at the house. Home was clean and cozy. Enjoyed the beautiful view from the house and morning coffee on the swing watching deer eat from the apple tree. Great location close to caves. My husband and I appreciated that we were safe riding our motorcycle there- road going to the property was nice and driveway is paved. Owners were responsive to questions and were gracious to let us extend our stay because we were enjoying our time so much! Thank you for sharing your amazing home with others. We would love to return.

Perfect family vacation home

The house was perfect for our family vacation in Hocking Hills. It had plenty of room, a beautiful setting, and the pool was a big hit with the kids. We loved going on all the trails throughout Hocking Hills, and this was the perfect location.

This place is great!!!

The house is very clean and there is a lot of room! We had our family there and there were 11 ppl total and we never felt crammed. The pool, hot tub and outdoor space is just awesome!! The fire pit area was perfect…made s’mores with the kids ❤️ They had all the amenities and things we needed. Would definitely recommend this place to stay and hope we get to come back one day!!!

Chillin' in Ohio's Hocking Hills

If you're looking for a relaxing and quiet getaway, this is the VRBO for you. Beautifully appointed and spacious home which is ideal for two families: Mimi & Papa, 2 Grandboys & their Mom & Dad. Kitchen is well appointed, you can do most all of your cooking/dining on site. Boys enjoyed many hours in the pool and hot tub and fishing in the pond at the bottom of the hill. Recommend pontoon rental on Lake Logan...there's a place to anchor and swim! And, of course, there are endless opportunities for hiking in the scenic Hocking Hills State Park.

We loved the view. The house was as expected from the pictures. The pool was the biggest hit! Instructions for how to use the hot tub and the pool pump would have been helpful. We plan to return in a year or two. Great place - peaceful and beautiful!

Beautiful lot with no privacy

Communication was good. We spent a lot of money and felt watched and listened to the whole time due to the amount of cameras everywhere at the property along with a camera in the garage and basement which can pick up talking. Camera pointed at the hot tub didn’t sit well with us and felt watched so we put a piece of tape of the camera for privacy and was contacted right away so I felt watched. Hard to relax with cameras pointed at you every angle. Ice maker didn’t work, hot water heater wasn’t hot enough to get bath tub full but it sleeps 12 people. Fire place in bedroom didn’t work. The amount of Japanese beetles inside the home was terrible. Ended up in our drinks and food. We made them aware of all of this and only received an apology. No offer of credit or refund. We had my daughter and daughter in law in their bikinis and they were not comfortable with the cameras. There are postings but not on all cameras or the ones that are hidden up on the trees. I felt for spending a ton of money for barely 2 full days to relax and celebrate, it was not worth the price at all. So if privacy and amenities is a factor, this is not the place at all. The owners quick responses was the only perk of this rental and the large lot.

Clean house, friendly owners and all the amenities you need

We enjoyed our time at The Grounds with our three young kids. The water slide was a hit! We used the firepit every night. We walked to the pond every day. The kids loved it so much that our hikes were short and our time at the house as a family was the highlight.

first trip to Hocking Hills

Our family really enjoyed our first trip to Hocking Hills. The house and property were very clean. It's also close to Hocking Hills State Park allowing for almost daily hiking trips. The only issue we had (with being in a remote area) was connectivity problems with the GPS. However after the first few days, we knew how to get around.

Amazing property and amenities

Our family of 11 celebrated mom/grandma’s #80. It was a stunning setting to enjoy family time (especially the pool in July!) and hike a few areas of Hocking Hills. The large kitchen and grill were perfect for all of our needs. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. You will not be disappointed!

Hello, We loved staying at the grounds. When is the basement to be done? We have more family and they would love it. 2 things: something is funky with the septic tank, kept getting smells from the toilet would definitely have a colindar.

Overall fantastic property, but horrible issue during our stay that was not resolved.

Overall the property is wonderful. But upon check-in there was a horrible sewer smell in the Master bath that spread into Master bedroom. Also this same smell was somewhat noticed in the other bathroom, but not as pronounced. Notified owners, but unfortunately this issue remained during our whole stay. There are just 2 bathrooms in the house, so the Master bath had to be used. This issued made for a very unpleasant stay. The rest of the house was great, pool and hot tub wonderful.

Yearly girls trip

This was our 2nd trip to Hocking Hills, 1st time staying at this property, and we hit the jackpot with this home! Location was perfect, very private. Close to Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, and Old Man's Cave. Outdoor space: breathtaking views and large covered patio with a sectional, a screened in porch area with a table and 6 chairs, a huge grill, and 2 entrances from the house. Fire pit area large and comfortable. Pool was large, had 4 lounging chairs, a slide, and the pool house was stocked with pool noodles, floats, toys, extra chairs, lights, an outdoor covered tent that you can assemble, and the hot tub was in the same area. Pond was down a hill with a mowed path. Pinic table at bottom. Caught the biggest trout we had ever caught and caught quite a few bluegill as well. Catch and release. Covered swing area by the path down to the pond was popular as well. Inside: Large pantry area, 2 washers and dryers. Kitchen was large, stocked well, and had a 6 person bar height table. Dining room had large live edge table ( wow ) Living room had huge sectional ( comfy!! ) and a comfy chair. Bedrooms (5+1 bonus room) were large, closets with extra fans, and ceiling fans. Bathrooms, 2 of them, one in the master suite. 2 person soaking tub in the master bath ( amazing ) Bring beach towels and personal care items. Garage well stocked! Lots of yard games and fishing supplies, wood for fires. Hosts were amazing! Very friendly, appreciative, and accommodating. We will return !!

3 Day Weekend Getaway with Friends

We had a group of 10 people stay at the house and had an amazing time. We make an annual summer trip down to Hocking Hills from all over the state and this year did not disappoint. The property is quite remote, and situated on an amazing piece of property with incredible views. We woke up each morning to the sun coming up over the valley. It was beautiful. The inside is well furnished with comfortable couches, comfortable beds, and well decorated. Frankly, we didn't spend much time inside. The outside entertaining area is second to none. We make a HH trip every year and this was by far the best set up. The pool, hot tub, grill, firepit etc. are all in the same general area and our large group was able to all stay together as a result. The pool is beautiful and quite large. The only negative thing I can say about this place was that there were only 4 lounge chairs and we found ourselves trading off from time to time. 10/10 will absolutely stay here again. The owners were responsive with questions before and even during our stay. One of our top HH trips without question!
