Beautiful rental, handicap friendly

I chose this property because it looked handicapped friendly from the post. Let me add more details that aren’t mentioned. The second shower not shown is a walk in shower with a bench it has one 6” step to enter. One 4” step at front door threshold. The lanai has the biggest steps one 6” at door threshold and one larger 8-10” step down to main lanai. No step to lanai if you use outside access around the left of house to screen door and the dock is handicap accessible but narrow. House was amazing with lots of room to manuvuer walkers etc.

Peaceful

We really needed a place to rest and enjoy our family members and the surrounding area. This was the perfect place for that. The house was very big so everyone could spread out and do different things or all be together at the table or around the tv watching football. It had everything we needed.

Very comfortable home, just needed better cleaning.

The home outside needed much work. The dock on the water had a 5-6 foot branch and other branches, and needed to just be swept off badly. Also the patio was the same. Needed to be swept. If there had been a broom, we would have done so. There was just a small 3 ft kitchen broom that we used to remove what we could. The floors inside could have definitely been cleaner. Kitchen appliances needed wiping down. The home is beautiful and the setting on the river is too. Just needed proper cleaning.

Relaxing comfort

From opening the front door to unlocking the patio glass doors leading to the terrace all we said was wow. We stayed for six days and visited Swampy’a, Blue Gator, Gruff’s, and left The Front Porch for last because — PIE ! The comfortable, spacious home is centrally located to all we wanted to do. 4 adults had plenty of space and comfort. I think 6-8 would be comfortable. Direct access to the river. The photos don’t do the property justice.

Great family Rainbow River weekend trip

The property is very nicely appointed with everything you need in the kitchen. This includes coffee filters, some spices and salt and pepper (which is very convenient, especially of you are not used to VRBO). The host was very nice when we reported an issue with the Wi-Fi after TS Debby came through a week before. It was actually nice to be able to keep everyone's attention and not have to worry about watching TV or Tik Tok during family game time.There is plenty of seating inside and out. The outside is very private and has a beautiful view and access to the river. My daughter & son-in-law were fishing off the dock (didn't catch anything but still had fun trying for the first time). As advertised, there is a lot of natural wildlife and we all enjoyed seeing gators in their natural habitat. Highly recommended and would stay again if visiting the area from our home in the Tampa Bay area.

Beautiful home and location

We enjoyed the home but most of all the screened porch. The grounds were kept up and the view was the bomb! We were able to check in early which was nice because we were traveling with live plants. I would stay there again!

Great Stay in Dunnellon

My family and I had a great stay. The house was clean and the kitchen was great. We docked our boat in the back yard and were 5 minutes away from the ramp. Lots of good bass fishing on the river and my daughter caught her first fish off of the dock. I think the price was a little high, considering my friends got a similar rental in the area for half of the price. I also think they should add a grill for cooking, but overall it was a great stay. Thank you again.

Property and home is beautiful. We loved seeing the sunset over the river. Only saw 1 gator and it was a baby. It swam away when it heard us. Lots of turtles & birds. Quiet and peaceful especially in the morning when drinking coffee on the lani.

Great homebase!

My teen children and I rented this home for a long weekend to visit my parents who have retired to a small condo. The home is fully appointed. It was the most well-stocked kitchen that I have ever rented. and the kitchen is big enough to cook nearly anything. There is a great screened-in porch that overlooks a tranquil cove. My son had a blast fishing off the dock, while his sister read/napped in a cozy reading nook. If you are looking for a quiet spot to relax and unwind, this is the listing for you.

Relax Relax

This is a great home to get away from your busy lifestyle and just sit on the dock and enjoy the quiet, peaceful river. We even had a visitor everyday we called “Ally”the alligator. Close to food and parks. Would recommend for sure!!

Great location and plenty of space!!

The house was very well kept and there was plenty of space for my husband, myself, and 2 preteens. We loved the stay and would stay here again, however there were a few things that I feel need to be addressed There was an alligator (Fred) that is very comfortable with humans that I would caution everyone to watch for. We did not feed him because it’s illegal (which also needs to be stated somewhere in the house), but I assure you that someone has. He will swim to within 2 feet of you (we were on the dock) and just stay there while you talk to him. If he sees you fishing, he will never leave and he, non-aggressively, will chase your line. Kind of like a giant lizard puppy that can bite your leg off. I think there should be more signs cautioning people with young children especially. He came over EVERY TIME we came outside, this was not an isolated event. We were unable to fish due to this. ALSO, Being extra pillows. I’m glad I read other reviews about the pillows. They are sad and flat. I would not have been able to sleep had I not brought my own. The beds are firm but I slept great. Like I said, I would stay here again, but if you aren’t a fan of wildlife, this wouldn’t be the place for you.

I loved this property and could have stayed longer. It was very relaxing. The house is large enough to allow for some privacy, yet still allowed us all to stay together. We were visited by Buddy, as we called him, the neighborhood gator. And as others noted, bring a pillow if you sleep with more than one. ;)

Lots of gathering space, huge kitchen, amazing wildlife views

We rented this property to have a place to stay near family for a memorial after my father died. It was the perfect quiet spot for family togetherness: the kitchen is huge, and the living room/great room area is spacious, airy, and furnished with lots of tables and seating. There's also a screened patio/lanai just feet from the river. While we were there, a large turtle strolled past the lanai literally feet from us and slid into the river, and we saw three sizable alligators in two days, including one that hung out in the weeds directly beside the property. A++++ for setting and family gathering space. The downsides, since there were a few: 1. Posted information stated that extra pillows could be found in the front bedroom area, but we never found any. We really needed them because the pillows on the bed in the master were as flat as pancakes. 2. We wanted to look at a video slideshow one family member had put together (old pictures of my late father) by using an HDMI cable to connect her computer to the TV. The only remote available worked the Roku and thus the TV, but the actual LG Smart TV remote wasn't available, which made figuring out how to view her memorial video a challenge even for the most tech savvy among us. 3. The big one: There was a brief but powerful storm on the Saturday of our stay, and the lower driveway and road just outside the property COMPLETELY FLOODED. I had to wade through murky puddle water that was above my knees to cross the road to my car (I had temporarily parked along the grass to leave room in the driveway for an elderly relative who uses a rolling walker). The water had receded by the next morning, but we had a temporary Lake Cherokee Circle outside for a while. Some water also swept under the screened door into the lanai, bringing silt with it, though it was really the deep water in the road and lower driveway that posed problems when we wanted to drive into Dunnellon. Overall, I would recommend this beautiful and well-situated house for any family retreat, but I would also recommend to the property owner/manager that they look into some kind of drainage solution to the potential flooding in front of the property, since storms are common in Florida in the summer.

We enjoyed our Mother’s Day stay. The location is perfect!

It was a great stay. We are close to everything we needed to access. We loved the porch and the spacious of place. Everything we seemed to need was readily available. There was great attention to detail. Only complaint…bed pillows are too worn out and there aren’t any extras to be found. Please update the pillows and we might not ever want to leave…

Thanksgiving Getaway

Perfect property for our family gathering. We LOVED the large kitchen for feasting and plenty of seating in lots of locations inside and outside. The view from the porch and back patio was awesome.
