“The Alana is a new Hotel, very clean and functional. Small pool (only for kids) can't swim. The breakfast doesn't suit for western guests (only scramble eggs, no sausages, no salamis). As a western guest I m not familiar with "traditional" indonesian foods and those 4-5 types of food. Fruit and sweets choice is very poor, even I can say "it's nothing", need to be highly improved!!! “Rooms were very comfortable and clean, with a great view over the city of Malang. Staff was very friendly too and even though they had quite a few trainees on the roster when I stayed, they tried their best and always had a smile on their face, even though they were still learning and occasionally had to clarify a number of things with the senior staff. I had to set off very early in the morning but they were kind enough to prepare a packed breakfast (with delicious nasi goreng) for me. ”

“Kamer was sober maar schoon. Faciliteiten erg slecht. Er was geen personeel wat engels sprak. Wij hadden iedere keer bij de receptie een bewaker zitten die helemaal niet verstond. Ander personeel niet gezien. Ontbijt was slecht en hadden geen keuze gekregen de avond ervoor dus kregen volgende ochtend zomaar wat. Omdat we dag daarop vroeg weg gingen had onze chauffeur om een ontbijtpakket gevraagd maar deze was er niet die ochtend en verder ook helemaal geen personeel te vinden behalve de……

“All was lovely. The staff were pleasant. Typical Javanese Breakfast of rice, noodles, tempeh and coffee was good. The room was nice and location was on a quite Street just off of Ijen with several local restaurants nearby. We were hoping to extend our stay for a week but the WiFi was nonexistent and we could not get cell service in the room. WiFi worked okay in the lobby just outside but because of this we found another hotel just around the corner.”

“Hôtel non recommandable, en décrépitude et hyper sale. Je n' ai jamais vu un hôtel aussi sale : table grasse, joints de la douche moisis, lavabo plein de calcaire, couloir plein de traces quand nous sommes arrivés, mais nettoyé le lendemain, même le parasol à l extérieur est plein de moisissures. Les bas de porte n'ont pas du voir une éponge depuis plusieurs années et les araignées ont trouvé leur lieu de prédilection pour déployer leurs toiles ”
