Needles Nest: Secluded Cabin with Hot Tub

Needles Nest offers a serene natural setting for large groups who seek a peaceful retreat with all the conveniences. The cabin has central A/C, a hot tub, and plenty of room to spread out with 5 bedrooms (2 have king beds) & 2 bathrooms.

FAMILIES: Needles Nest is kid-friendly with air hockey, foosball, board games, books, highchairs, 2 family rooms, & a large TV. Plus, all ages will love exploring the property & watching the deer & wild turkeys that visit often.

UNBEATABLE SETTING: Enjoy a cup of coffee or a quiet evening on the wrap-around deck that provides beautiful views of 3 acres of whispering pines, majestic granite outcroppings, and wildlife. The firepit (when wildfire conditions allow) & hammocks are perfect places to unwind under the stars.

PERFECT LOCATION: Countless mountain adventures are nearby: Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, cave tours, Crazy Horse, Needles Highway, & Mickelson Trail. Plus, there’s an abundance of hiking, fishing, kayaking, UTV off-roading, and swimming just down the road. After a busy day of touring, get off the beaten path and come home to the comforts and tranquility of Needles Nest!

Amazing property

This cabin was amazing! Exceeded all our expectations. Our kids ranged from 10 to 3 and they loved having all the room to explore and play. We saw deer roaming all the time. Great location! Close to Custer and the grocery store and close to many attractions. We brought our side by sides and loved the area. Everything worked great! The beds were so comfortable! The wrap around porch and hot tub were used every night. Highly recommend this property! Candace was great to work with. She responded to any questions immediately. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We will be back!

Perfect hideaway close to everyrhing

Everything about this property was amazing and just as described online. We were in Rapid City for Nationals Tumbling and want to spend a couple days visiting the area. Needles Nest was located close to the thi gs we wa.ted to see and do. Then at night we came back and enjoyed the hottub and relaxing on the property. The house came with all the necessities (except Kleenex) for our stay. Everythi g was explained in the book and with the nice placards placed around the house. You cant go wro g stayi g here. Candace was always responsive with her replies to my questions. Thank you for your home

Amazing trip!

We fit comfortably at this property (4 adults, 6 teens). It was clean had all the amenities you could ask for and was in a perfect location. There was even an amazing frisbee golf course right near the house. Would highly recommend this property!

The setting among the Pines and boulders was perfect. Every day we were visited by deer and turkeys. The boys enjoyed the hot tub and outside fire setting. The location was easily accessible to Mt. Rushmore, Hill City 1880 Train, Wind Cave NP and especially Custer SP.Correspondence with the owner was wonderful.

Needles Nest is the Best!

This property was perfect for us. It was well stocked with everything you could need and had lots of thoughtful touches such as a welcome basket, coozies and treats! My 3 year old grandson loved running around the spacious wrap around deck and running in the yard. He also loved all of the toys provided. There is a beautiful area for a bon fire, but the conditions were too dry to have one. There were 8 of us but room for more if your group is bigger. I highly recommend.

Perfect Lodging in the Hills

This beautiful home is in the perfect location to all of the attractions in the Black Hills. Our great grandchildren were amazed to catch plenty of peeks at the local wildlife. As older adults this was such a relaxing and lovely location. A grocery store was near by as well as some very good restaurants. The home had all of our needs for cooking. The kids loved playing with the toys. The Host was very attentive to questions and kept in contact. Our trip was well enjoyed :)

Family Vacation

We had a great time over our 5 day stay. The 5 bedrooms was great for us as all the adults and kids had their own rooms. Beds were comfy and on the soft side so if you prefer a firm bed just a warning, but we enjoyed them. We had deer around every morning and throughout the day. Even had a group of turkeys wander through one afternoon. Had a nice Weber grill for cooking and the wrap around deck is wonderful.

Great stay

We enjoyed our Vrbo and it was a beautiful house. We were always greated by a mom and 2 baby deer in the mornings and evenings on the property. It was a great location, it was still close to town but secluded. Also very centrally located to all the places we visited!

Perfect house. Perfect location

7 friends traveling together and we had a wonderful stay at Needles Nest. Plenty of room for everyone. The location was convenient to all the fun activities close to Custer. The nearby Big Rock Trail was a pleasant surprise with an overlook of Custer. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you Candace for a great stay.

We had a wonderful time staying in what truly can be described as a nest, you’re nestled in and surrounded by nature, rocks, trees, etc. Your close to town, but you don’t feel like it. We enjoyed the yard the house and the surroundings.

Great property. The only issue we had was if you have women trying to get ready, downstairs bath does not have any plugs near the sink for hair drying, curling irons etc. I know that’s picky but it is a great thing to know if you are women!!🤗

Excellent accommodations with beautiful views and close to Custer

The place had enough space for all 12 of us and worked great for kids and adults. Everything we needed was supplied. Candace was extremely responsive. Great views, private, but within minutes of Custer. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent property! We stayed with two families and had plenty of space for 11 people. The house was clean and the beds were incredible! The location of the house was spot on to all the attractions we visited. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to the Black Hills area!

Beautiful property, beautiful home!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at needles nest! The home had plenty of room for our party of 12 and was well stocked with toiletries, kitchen utensils and appliances, we were very impressed. Candace was easy to communicate with and we would definitely recommend this place to a friend!

Extended Family Vacation in SD

Excellent stay! Candace was an excellent and accommodating host. Everything was as described and more! The location is on the heart of all attractions. We were within 45 minutes of everything. Exactly what we needed!

We came here for my 40th birthday and it was perfect! Cute cabin with wilderness feel yet close to town- we had a campfire one night and it was amazing to star gaze.very nice that the lower level is another living space since we had a bigger group. Coffee on the wrap around deck watching a deer and her fawn was definitely a highlight!

Cute & cozy home in the perfect location!

We loved our stay at Needles Nest! It was perfect for our 2 families, one on each level of the home. We never felt cramped! The house is right in the town of Custer, but feels like miles out of town. We had deer in the yard every day and the kids loved tossing carrots out for them to munch on! Super close to Custer State park, Sylvan Lake, Wildlife loop, Mount Rushmore, and so much more! Stay here! You won’t regret it!

Perfect Location

Beautiful location and easy access to all there is to see in Custer or Keystone. The property is spacious and the yard was the perfect outdoor playground for our kids. We loved that there were toys and books to play with in the house as well. It all felt very private too. Thanks for a great stay!
