My room was very clean as was the bedding. The bed was large and comfortable and the room was well heated. The shower was very powerful and a good temperature.the blackout curtains worked very well and the hotel/pub was easy to find.
However the maintenance of the room was poor with chipped paint, cracked walls, bodged carpet, a door with such a large gap at the bottom that I had to use a towel to block out the light plus the lights on the bed didn't work. This was an 'executive room' which had a garden view (of a big bush and the river if you peered around it) The breakfast was just OK, but a bit lacking in something, for example there wasn't any brown or red sauce on the table and the breakfast room smelled of cabbage on both days.
What could have been better? Attention to detail in maintenance, a cozy armchair or sofa in an 'executive' room a breakfast with more than one of each item in it and better bread than mother's pride.
This is not one of those hotels that I was desperate to get away from, but nor is it one I would go out of my way to come back to.
