A long family weekend
We were three generations of women (plus 2 spouses) and children enjoying a long winter weekend in Davis. The house is centrally located and if you don’t mind a walk, easy distance to downtown, restaurants and shopping. A heavy snow arrived Friday night after check in, around 8 fresh inches. A snow shovel and salt for use would be a nice addition or perhaps we overlooked it. The pipes froze in the downstairs bathroom/washer dryer area due to outside temps but there were 4 other bathrooms to use so no inconvenience there. The house has an amazing collection of old furniture and antique furnishings. It was so cozy and quaint. Very warm and welcoming. Well appointed kitchen and a gas cooktop which I really enjoyed! Common areas are spacious and furniture is comfy. There was one couch cushion that is well loved and could stand repair or replacing but it was kept covered with a blanket during our stay. We would love to visit again! Ps…I enjoyed the navy touches…my husband served on the USS Wisconsin. My son in law…graduated from West Point so we enjoyed picking on him a little extra about it being a naval house!
