“We had the BEST time at Ella Retreat! Sadly on 34 hours long but this hotel is seriously beautiful, better than the pictures.
You need a head for heights on the (slightly hairy) tuk tuk ride up the mountain, but once you're there this is a haven that you simply cannot afford to miss on your trip to Sri Lanka.
The location is mind-blowing, the rooms extremely nicely done and the food delicious.
Amazing quality service, we were in WhatsApp communication for ages before arriving and they were……

“The hotel is like a small one but very warm. I arrived at 2030 at night and they were already closing the restaurant. When they knew I haven't have dinner yet, they (only the owner and a staff) insisted to make a dinner for me freshly. Although it took them quite a while, their passion and heart to service the guest were really great.
I was travelling alone and they stayed until like 10 to make my dinner and waited until I finish before they go.”

“We stayed at this delightful mountain cabin in Ella. It hangs off the mountain, faces directly west for the perfect sunset between two peaks. The view is breathtaking. The pictures do not do the tiniest bit of justice.
It's a brand new cottage with 2 seperate units. One with a bedroom + loft sleeps 4 people. The other is a two bedroom.
The only downside to this place is getting there.. some steel hills, big vehicles cannot go.
Tuk Tuks... that struggle to get up the hill or walk.
It's worth it……

“The stay in Kent Cottage is probably one of the biggest highlight of the trip around Sri Lanka. The place had a very cosy feel. Didn't feel like I was in a hotel/cottage. The team for 3 did absolutely everything and more to make our stay a happy one. They attended to our needs immediately. They cooked fresh food that was our of this world and informed us of all the local attractions and what's the best time to go to them as well as organising the transport.
