We had a location mix up as there are two Renaissance Denver Hotels within 7 mins of each other. We valet parked, then registered with one hotel, only to discover we were at the other location. Once settled in our room, I called to let them know that we wanted to cancel there as we were at the other spot. I was informed that I'd have to deal with Expedia to change, which although I attempted to do so for hours on line, and by phone I never got through. Our reservation had a cancellation option. Now I have two charges, for the same night. I hope at the least there is a credit, if not a refund.
