Our stay at the hotel, despite its beautiful surroundings, was far from satisfactory. We checked in on May 9th and were assigned room 702. Upon opening the door, we were immediately assaulted by a strong cologne scent. As we entered to retrieve the phone to alert the front desk, we noticed that the towels in the room had been used, and the complimentary water bottles were empty, indicating that someone had consumed them. We promptly called the front desk and informed them of our findings. We waited in the hallway for the front desk staff to arrive. After a while, a young lady finally came up to our room with our new room keys. Once she arrived, she informed us that she had checked the room’s history and called housekeeping after discovering that someone had indeed occupied the room before our arrival. She explained that the housekeeper had asked the guest if they had touched anything, and the guest had assured her that they had not. However, the housekeeper had never personally inspected the room, which, in my opinion, is unacceptable. As a result, we were moved to room 646. To our dismay, this room had shades that refused to rise, and it was missing the TV remote. This is not what one would expect from a “5-star” hotel.
