I was disappointed with my stay at the Westin Southfield/Detroit. I definitely expected everything to be nicer.
First, my room had a terrible smell. Two of the doors were missing on the dresser and there wasn’t a light over/near the shower, so it was very dark.
Then, the fire alarm went off at 10:30pm, and everyone was told to evacuate the building via the stairs. I got down to the 2nd floor (from the 9th) before someone announced that it was a false alarm. Not necessarily the hotel’s fault, but this was very annoying when I was already in bed for the night.
Lastly, the food I ordered from room service was terrible. I paid $30 for a tiny, fake (Tropicana) orange juice, a cheap plain bagel with a tiny container of cream cheese and a yogurt parfait.
I expected much better from a Westin hotel. I will not be staying there again.
