“The only two downsides were a lack of WiFi and cell service (only available in the main house) and no GPS. They do send you very detailed directions, but if you are wholly unfamiliar with the area, it can be a little unsettling to be on winding roads outside of civilization with no cell service. I admittedly panicked (we drove for 12 straight hours overnight), and our friend was on the verge of declaring us missing because he couldn't get in touch with us. “The location alone is spectacular, particularly in mid-fall, though the boats are absolutely right that it's a cell phone wasteland. Fortunately the house WiFi can handle all but the most intense gaming loads (bandwidth is great but satellite-level pings) and has plenty of TVs board games, and other pastimes for those seeking a digital detox.
