“We enjoyed our stay! Good location on the beach in walking distance of restaurants and relatively easy to park on the street. Friendly staff, and great food at the restaurant. Breakfast was solid too with the option of kippers to go with a full-English-type spread. Would recommend! ”

“We had a wonderful stay in the Halvard hotel. The staff were welcoming, and accommodating for our requests. Our room was clean, spacious and had a lovely view of the sea and the promenade. The breakfast was excellent, with good options for hot breakfast that's freshly prepared and a small buffet. The location of the hotel is great, being less than 10 min walk from the ferry passenger terminal, on the sea front and downtown area, and in walking distance to the bus station. We loved our stay here,……

“The Sefton is a grand building toward the town centre end of the promenade and about 10 minutes walk from the Sea Terminal and buses to and from the airport stop close by, so very convenient. Check in was smooth. I booked an atrium room which was quiet, modern but not bland. Good bathroom, living area with a balcony. The room was clean and in good order, regular top ups in the tea/ coffee dept; along with complimentary bottled water. The bed was rather firm I thought but I slept well. Breakfast……

“It's a very clean hotel, the ownership is very friendly and helpful. It is not a modern cookie cutter hotel or building. It is the Victorian era. It is not fancy in modern terms. The stairs are steep and narrow, they way they were done at the time it was built. I would like more lighting on them. Breakfasts were good and satisfying. I had plenty of hot water. ”
