I have a love/hate relationship with this property. The property itself is surrounded by lush greenery with a beautiful view of Drake Bay. We were assigned a room next to checkin and dining area. The room was clean, had a comfortable bed, lots of windows for light and view. A fairly nice room. The problem is, it was like living in a fishbowl. You had no privacy so you had to keep the curtains drawn at all times. At night, the lights from the hotel came through your windows while you were trying to sleep, (curtains were not thick) until they turned most of them off late in the evening. You are then woken at 4 o’clock in the morning when the lights came back on for staff to start their day. We asked to be moved to a different room, we would even pay for an upgrade and we’re denied multiple times.
All the serving/cleaning staff were exceptional!
And if you have not read about the stairs yet.. let me just say, if you have any problems with stairs, this place is not for you.
