Tru By Hilton is a really nice hotel! If Google reviews has a 4.25 or 4.5, that's what I'd likely rate it. The staff were all incredibly friendly and efficient. The gentleman who checked us in went to so far as to write down my two Hilton accounts and the 800 number so I could merge them. Then he gave us a welcome gift (bottle water and a small bag of popcorn). Very nice touch.
The lobby is amazing! Plenty of seating, TVs, a pool table, board games, Giant Connect 4, books, magazines, and coloring books. They even printed out St. Patty's Day color sheets for kiddos. There's also plenty of snacks for purchase plus complimentary coffee, tea, and hot cocoa 24/7.
The pool area is small, but worked just fine for us. The maintenance guy happened to be be passing by and asked us how the water was for us. Then he grabbed a few pool toys for my kiddos. Very nice of him!
There was a strong marijuana smell in one of the elevators and in the parking at different times. While it's legal in Minnesota now, I don't want to smell it in a nice hotel.
The rooms are interesting. They feel ultra modern and efficient. While they feel a little small, the lobby makes up for it. Our room had a strong sour smell and the pillows are small and too few. The bathrooms are great! We liked the soaps and modern touches. However, the toilet was running the entire time and the shower has a design flaw (water leaks out the glass door onto the bathroom floor).
