“This was a very lovely house, however there was an oil leak with a VERY STRONG ODOR !! This odor gave me a headache. The owner was aware of this problem because her son came over shortly after we arrived, said that they would get someone out to repair it but after 4 nights it was not repaired.. The electric tea kettle had so much red liquid sediment in it I was afraid to use it .. The liquid hand soap dispenser was almost empty in the bathroom. No extra toilet paper was provided.”

“Yvonne and Peter couldn't be more accommodating! Yvonne met us to discuss the cottage. She had nice touches to make everything cozy. It was incredibly clean! We felt at home immediately! It was a wonderful base camp for Kilkenny and several other places. We loved Portlaoise and enjoyed several trips into town ( only a 10 minute drive) We loved their dogs and enjoyed spending time getting to know them. ( Our choice, they are very respectful of privacy) I absolutely recommend their place 100%!!”

“I have to preface this with an *. I had booked the gardener's cottage but there was some sort of booking mishap and the cottage was double booked. To their credit they gave me a room in the main house which was very nice. It was technically an up-grade and there was no charge. I would have like the solitude of the cottage, but I am not upset as I had a lovely time.
You should most definitely get dinner. The food was exceptional. I enjoyed interacting with the other guests and the host over……

“The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The location was excellent as it was a short walking distance to all of the tourist areas and attractions. We appreciated the free on site parking. The breakfast was wonderful and the beer garden was a very nice area in which to relax.
The windows in our room were very dirty and little bugs gathered around the lights at night. It was also very noisy as the music from the beer garden drifted up to our windows and the noise from the crowd there……
