Calliope traditional retreat next to the sea

Calliope is a worm, cozy, hospitable stone-house located in the coastal region of Kiparissos. It is a part of a double residence, the core of which was built in the late 19th century. The residences where recently renovated and decoupled with respect to the local traditional architecture.
The house functions on two different levels and composed of 3 bedrooms, a front room with an office, a sofa bed and a wood stove, an open plan kitchen with a dining room and a living room. In the living room there is a fireplace. The house also has two toilets and a bathroom.
The space is decorated with fabrics and curtains idiosyncratic lighting and handmade furniture.
The property has two major sundecks facing both the sea and the nearby mountains, which are full of sage, oregano and thyme.
The location is quiet, enchanting and ideal for natural exploration and architectural expeditions. There are many sightseeings and archeological regions in Mani Peninsula.
At around 130 meters from the building lies the graphic cove of Kiparissos, Aghios Nikolaos. The fantastic beach of Almyros which is covered in smooth stones and has crystal turquoise waters, is only 400 meters away from the house. There are many wonderful sandy beaches and coves accessible by car and at a small distance from the house.

repos, nature et la mer à deux pas

Nous avons passé 10 jours inoubliables dans cette maison, fraîche malgré la chaleur avec un jardin aux multiples recoins pour profiter de l'été! Des plages où l'on est quasiment seuls avec une mer de carte postale- où vous pouvez vous rendre très facilement à pied. Les propriétaires vous accueillent avec une profusion de produits locaux de qualité et un souci permanent de votre bien-être ! Nous n'attendons que d'y retourner ! Un grand merci Eleni et Takis pour ces vacances grecques que nous ne sommes pas prêts d'oublier.

We had a wonderful 2 week stay at Eleni’s house in Kiparissos!

The house is beautiful, with lots of seating areas, good sized bedrooms and a lovely garden and terraces. These combine great views of the sea and mountains, with sheltered places to eat and cook outside. The area of the Mani the house is in is dramatic and surprising, and Kiparissos is a great base to explore it all. Last but not least there are two delightful beaches within 5 minutes walk, both often deserted and with lovely clear water. We look forward to returning!

Les différentes terrasses (4) disponibles sont trés agréables ce qui permet d'être dehors tout au long de la journée. Le logement est trés bien équipé, il y a tout ce qu'il faut et le propriétaire est toujours disponible même s'il n'est pas sur place. La maison est séparée en 2 logements mais cela ne pose aucun problème car les espaces sont trés bien séparés. 2 belles plages sont accessibles à pieds une à 5 mn et l'autre à moins de 10mn par des petits chemins. Logement dans lequel nous retournerons avec grand plaisir.

Wonderful house in a beautiful area

Beautiful family house, with 3 bedrooms very Nicely made (a 4th place is possible to sleep) and all are air conditionned equiped. The house is very Well conceived, so that all the Terraces / out spaces are so that you are always going to find a place with shadow and wind… You are 3 minutes from the beach (I mean 3 RÉAL minutes by foot,), with a sweet little path between olive trees and a beautiful stonewall…We were often alone on this beach in the middle of the summer holidays! A stunning walk or running way with beautiful views just coming left out of the house which leads you to another beautiful beach. Impossible to not talk about our guests, so adorables, caring and who leaved us beautiful local products : tomatoes (local tomatoes, WoW… not the one you know…), cucumbers, honey, marmelade, wine, ouzo, fresh water, fresh origano,…. I Know I Forget a lot, and I take the opportunity to thank them so Much…

Fantastische Ferien

Das Haus mit Inventar entspricht genau der Ausschreibung. Zusätzlich hat Eleni noch ein Infobuch zusammengestellt. Darin sind die Strände in Laufdistanz sowie viele anderen Strände und Sehenswürdigkeiten erwähnt. Zudem hat sie uns Brot, Käse, Aufschnitt, Früchte und Gemüse, Honig, Oel und Wein bereitgestellt. Mega grosszügig! Wir waren zu viert und hatten also genug Platz. Das eine Zimmer (Büro) würde ich nicht unbedingt zum Schlafen empfehlen. Es ist ein 'Durchgangszimmer'. Die restlichen Zimmer (Doppelbetten) hatten eine Klimaanlage; sehr angenehm anfangs August. Auf den drei Terassen haben wir je nach Sonnenstand viele Stunden verbracht. Alles in allem hatten wir sehr erholsame, schöne Ferien. Vielen Dank Eleni

Magnificent Retreat

Eleni’s home was absolutely perfect for a relaxing vacation in rural Mani. Eleni was a most thoughtful hostess, providing us with supplies sufficient for several days as we were arriving late, including homemade olives, local wine, eggs and vegetables, and excellent suggestions for places to visit. The kitchen was stocked with coffee, spices and condiments which is unusual. The house and bedding were exceptionally clean, the beds very comfortable, and there were several comfortable sitting areas inside and outside. We particularly enjoyed doing yoga in the morning on the top deck. The location was excellent for exploring the Mani peninsula. Best of all it was within walking distance of 3 beautiful beaches.

Wonderful stay

We has a wonderful week at eleni s house. Mani is wild, beautiful and kiparissos and the house is very well situated. 2 very nice beaches at a walking distance, charming village of gerolimenas 10 mn driving. The house is charming, very well equiped, very clean and beds are very comfortable. The house is divided in 2 but having neighbours was not at all an issue. A lot of terraces in the house allowing to rest with wonderful views. We highly recommend this house, we thank a lot eleni for warm welcoming and hospitality and we hope to come back soon !

Superbe maison accueil chaleureux Situation géographique top

Nous avons été accueillis par Eleni et sa famille très chaleureusement et avons découvert l’hospitalité Grecque.La maison a tout ce qu’il faut , comme si vs étiez chez vous ! La maison est très agréable à vivre. Le jardin avec ses oliviers , yucca et pin est superbe et la petite crique à l’eau transparente est très tranquille. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la région aux paysages grandioses ( un peu l’Irlande Méditerranéenne! ). Situation géographique pour le Magne parfaite . Living in the dream home

Eleni’s home, Calliope, is just a stone jewel. The accuracy of every detail is astounding. The bedroom on the upper floor made me feel like staying on quarterdeck of a pirate ship. A huge, immense terrace dominating the blue sea of Kiparissos and thousands silver/green waving olive trees. The garden, contained by high strong wall is a private piece of heaven, all for you, on the earth. Beautiful gorgeous plants and beautiful flowers spreading a mix of dizzyngly seductive scent. The kitchen is fully equipped and every day one can choose a different table, or terrace where enjoy the supper. The short path to reach the small tiny beach is itself a very pleasant experience: a stroll that leads you to overlook the small bay. You won’t find any other tourists but a few locals or fishermen. And having every morning a friendly chat is priceless: once they have found out that you are Eleni’s guest, you are even more warmly welcomed. What to say more. After eighteen years I come in Mani I have found my retreat: I have spent two weeks out of time, out of the world.
