CLEANING PROTOCOL: We’re as concerned as you are about keeping our space clean. We follow all cleaning protocols by cleaning and removing germs, dirt from surfaces and sanitizing to reduce all numbers of bacteria. We use cleaners approved by health experts, like disinfectants with 70% alcohol or higher. We sanitize all surfaces down to the doorknob. We clean room by room , every sheets, blankets, pillows, etc, all washed and disinfected in high heat settings.

Tucked Away is a 4 Bedroom Cozy Vacation Home in an amenity filled gated community. Great getaway house for all seasons & occasions. 90 minutes from Manhattan. 20 minutes away from Mount Airy Casino and 5 Miles from Camelback and Shawnee Ski Resorts in Winter Big Bolder, Jack Frost, & The Crossings Outlets; a huge strip mall with over 100 stores. The house is located within easy driving distance of the Delaware River (Delaware Water Gap). Other activities nearby include Hiking, Biking, Horseback riding, Tennis, Golf, Bushkill Falls, Flea markets, Lakes, and Pools.
Relaxing romantic/cozy getaway in the Poconos with secluded backyard views directly into a small lake/pond with fire pit.
PLease note: We are located down to a pond/small lake and there are 20-25 steps down to the house. This property is not suitable for elderly or people with disability.

* Features 4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. Living/Family room equipped with a variety of board games. Basement room equipped with pool table, foosball and dart games. Kitchen equipped with refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and all other appliances for your needs. Hard wood floors throughout the downstairs and carpet upstairs.


Accommodations:
4 bedrooms, 2 bath (Sleeps up to 7 adults) Any guest after 7 guests will be charge $50 a per night. Everyone has to register at the front gate.

-Room 1 Waterfront – First floor: Queen bed, TV, closet, fan, nightstands, dresser and bathroom
-Room 2 Waterfront – Second Floor: full bed, closet, fan, nightstand, dresser
-Room 3- Second Floor: full bed, closet, , fan and a portable air conditioner.
-Room 4- Second Floor: 2 twin bunk beds Maximum Weight: 150 Lbs per bed. fan
-Air conditioner in the ( loft area only) fans in every bedroom.
-Dining room with 6 chairs. We have extra chairs in basement.
-Living room on first floor with sofa, fire place, flat screen TV, Netflix, Free Wi-Fi and lots of DVD to watch!
-Medium deck space in the back of the house with BBQ and medium enclosed outside porch on the side of the house by the dining area.

SNOW DAY: If it snows on the day of departure, guests must dig themselves out of the driveway. Shovel is on the deck. Owners are not on premises.

PLEASE NOTE: there are about 23 steps down to the front door, could be to much for older couples or small children or someone with disabilities. No wheelchair assess.

Parking:
-4 cars will be allowed to park in the driveway. Only 4 cars will be given access into the gated community and there is no outside parking. There is no street parking in the community. Any car left outside of the driveway the community police will issue tickets and you will be held responsible.

ABSOLUTELY NO SPEEDING: or you will be responsible for tickets issue to the property for you and your guests. So please make sure all guests know the rules of the community. Please follow all the rules in the community.

Violations: !!!!!!!To ensure a safe and positive experience please follow all the rules in the Community. Any speeding, damages or violations YOU will be held responsible for yourself and your guests. Pay attention to the speed limit inside the community or you will get ticketed by the patrol. !!! Again: We are not responsible for any tickets, violation or damages that you or your guests commit.

THINGS TO NOTE:
-A car is recommended if you want to see all the local attractions the Pocono Mountains has to offer!

- A small start-up set of garbage bags, toilet tissue, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner and hand soap will be provided but are not replenished.

-The lake/pond behind our Cabin (Deep in some areas) It can be accessed through our backyard. Great for swimming or Kayaking in hot summer days. The lake is murky and muddy when walking into the lake but great for swimming once you get in it [BRING YOUR WATER SHOES AND FLOATIES] . Not recommended for small children. There’s another sand lake not far from our Cabin. Great for kids with playground, BBQ grills, etc.

-This Cabin is NOT accessible for people with disability

-The cabin only has one air conditioner in the loft area (fan in every room)

-Absolutely no smoking inside the house-please be considerate while smoking outdoors and properly dispose of any cigarette butts. no drugs, no fireworks, no underage alcohol.

-We do not provide firewood for the fireplace

-No graduations or prom groups. 24+ to rent no exceptions

-Please keep in mind that this is our Cabin in a residential community. Neighbors live and work here. Please keep noise levels down during your stay.

-No pets allowed ( please ask about our policy on pets)

-Respect the privacy of others

I am always just a text message, email or phone call away. We are always available if needed, but feel our home is your home when you are there, so we do not interfere. Enjoy your stay!!

We enjoyed the short stay at Janet's. The property has tons of rooms, games, fun things in the basement, water sports. Close to downtown and check in was easy. Only downside was the weak and slow wifi. But still would highly recommend!!

The driveway was filled with ice, we struggled to even get the cars in. There were about 20 steps from the car to the cabin, which had 3" thick ice on it, making getting to the cabin very dangerous, I actually fell. The cabin however, was very clean and cozy.

This house is on a super steep incline. I know it says not for disabled THIS HOUSE ISN’T FOR THE ABLED!! It is not safe for anyone. Families with children should stay away. The terrain was unkept and overgrown. There was no dock or clearing to use a boat. The boats that were shown in the ad for the house were not the owners and we could not use. Then why were they in the description as an amenity? The fire pit was a beat up and old. The cover only had one of 4 sides - danger The game room was the focal point of our vacation one of three reasons we selected this house and we could not watch tv, turn on the pool table light, or plug anything in until 3 nights in of 5 nights after 9 pm. 9:30 the handyman showed up and did not know what he was looking for. My husband had to fix the breaker problem so we could have lights. The foosball table is in a location with not enough room to even play without possible injury. The internet was a big one as one out our family members works remote and only agreed to join us because there was internet. Nothing I think you they should tell people that the internet is terrible out here for all to know. My son missed two important meetings. He only agreed to come along because there was internet. When the owner was on speaker phone with the handyman she said the internet sometimes doesn’t work, but then acted surprised when we told her it didn’t. In the amenities it is listed there is a canoe on the property, only to find out we can’t use it.

While this house is OK, I don’t think it rates an exceptional rating that it has. Janet was very responsive to questions, the listing is generally accurate, and the location on Penn Estates with pool and things to do in the area are great. However, the house itself was disappointing: (1) The WiFi was terrible. 80% of the time it didn’t work, and when it did the speed was VERY slow. (2) The AC is not what you would expect. There is just one old unit on the mezzanine. If you are expecting modern AC, you will be very disappointed. (3) The house feels rather worn out and in need of upkeep. Paintwork is scuffed, bathrooms are tiny and dated, various things are in disrepair, eg. screen doors are broken and don’t move, kitchen lights are an extension cord nailed to the ceiling that you plug/unplug to operate, carpet on the stairs has a musty smell, shower door handle broke off, there is dust and cobwebs in many places in the house. None are deal-breakers, but they just make it feel like the place is lacking. Also if you had 5 or more people it would feel cramped. The upstairs 3 bedrooms are cramped and lack anywhere for luggage or clothes – the small closets are already filled up with stuff. Another negative are the many stairs to climb to get in/out of the house - hard with bags even if you are fit! On the plus side, the direct lake access with kayaks is nice, and the basement games room is a bonus. Overall it’s OK, but if I came back to the area I would look at other options.

As advertised, Janet’s home overlooking a quaint pond was truly special. Plenty of space for a large family. Old school board games and DVD’s included! And of course the basement is a games heaven with a pool table, dart board and foozball. Kitchen is well equipped though needs a little modernizing perhaps needing an air fryer. Though the pop up toaster oven was something my kids thought was cool. The steps leading down to the property are both great and - as mentioned in the ad - not intended for disabled guests. I didn’t mind. However, bringing a haul in from the car parked above was definitely something you should be aware of. Got my exercise in! The property is close to all Poconos attractions including Camelback and Great Wolf Lodge. The only note perhaps is the process at the gated community entrance. Make sure your GPS takes you to the front gate. We ended up at the back gate where the security guy on the speaker system clearly is not happy with the continuous problem of “guests” pulling up and having to instruct us to grab the print out supplied below the scanner (looked like this always happens) which had loose directions on how to go around to the front gate. On tap of that, when one pulls up to the back gate, you have to go in reverse to get out and likely there are a line of cars behind you and it gets a bit stressful. Other than that, we had a great time and highly recommend the property to anyone else.

This is an amazing home/cabin! As soon as you walk in it felt cozy and very inviting. Everything was immaculately clean. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials, which made it easy to cook our meals. Access to the lake was right in the back yard with Canoes and kayaks available for guest use. We had a lot of family fun in the basement which has a pool table and all sorts of games. The house was fully equipped with everything you could possibly think of. What did it for me was all of the beautiful little details throughout the cabin which had a warm Homie feel. Janet was very kind and quick to respond to any of my questions. I highly recommend this home. A peaceful place to enjoy, relax and take home great memories. Thank you Janet! We would certainly want to visit again!

Janet was very accommodating for our last minute getaway. 7 adults and plenty of room for us all. The place was clean and very nice. Definately on a hill as described but we made lots of use of everything the property had to offer from the firepit, to the grill to the well equipped kitchen and even the deck and screened in porch. Also the beach. Would definitely rent again. Thanks!!

Janet is a phenomenal host, quick to respond and addressed all our needs. My wife and I with our 2 kids enjoyed the stay very much and will book this nice cabin again in the future. Access to kayak and lake right behind the house was awesome. Plus we got to enjoy time at the community pool, playground and private lake side beach. Another great thing about this place is that pharmacies, grocery stores and restaurants are within a 15 min drive.

We enjoyed our stay, it was a good location as we were skiing at Camelback for the weekend. The house was cozy, the only issue I have is that the wood that was provided (that we paid for) was very green and it wouldn’t burn. Otherwise it was a nice stay

Owner was very understanding and easy to reach out to, always very responsive! She made our little getaway extremely comfortable, she was understanding and helpful with check in and check out options. And the house was perfect for what we needed it for. The only problem we ran into was at the check in at the gate, the driver’s names were not enough. They wanted everyones names who was in the car. It took us 20 min to get it. But it all turned out fine at the end. I would absolutely recommend this house and it’s owner! 5*

Loved the cozy little cabin in the woods that we were able to stay at. Everything was perfectly cleaned and prepared for us when we arrived and everything we could have needed (cooking utensils, extra fans, board games, etc) was already there and ready to use. The house itself was very comfortable to stay in; while it got warm during the day, the fans and AC units were plenty to keep it cool at night, and opening a window cooled the house down to the point of needing a blanket. All instructions we needed were provided beforehand, and there were no issues getting our entry pass into Penn Estates. She was also available if we had any further questions or concerns. Though we didn't use any of it, there should have been no reason to be board with the games and activities in the basement that were offered to us. It was also a pleasant surprise to have access to so many TVs and internet in the backwoods of PA. Like I said, everything we could have needed or wanted was there, and everything was perfectly taken care of before arrived. Great stay and great place to stay at.

Great name for this gem. Wonderful place for a family get together. Lots of activities for the kids and grownup kids. Kids had a great time down at the lake using the boat, kayaks and fishing. The walk down to the lake is very steep and something to keep in mind. My favorite spot was the screened in porch. Very relaxing! Janet is very accommodating and left a bottle of wine and a hand written note. This was my first trip to the Pocono’s and I totally enjoyed everything. Thank you Janet.
