Charming Victorian holiday home in North Berwick, the heart of East Lothian’s golfing coast

Westend Place is a charming, spacious detached Victorian holiday house on 3 levels. Our guests could not be better placed for enjoying East Lothian golf during their stay, with North Berwick Golf Club just minutes away. The beach is also within easy walking distance, along with North Berwick High Street and a wide variety of independent businesses, cafes and eateries.

Westend Place retains traditional Victorian features and the individuality of the house adds to the appeal of this large property. The house also boasts golfing heritage as the birthplace of Jean Donald, three-time Scottish Ladies Amateur Champion. Relax with family or friends at this beautiful holiday home and enjoy sea views to the Firth of Forth.

Ground floor:
On the ground floor of Westend Place is a sitting room with ample, comfortable seating and TV.

This level also houses a bathroom with shower cubicle and separate W.C.

Cook up a storm in the kitchen, which contains all you need for your self-catering break, including a fridge with a freezer compartment, dishwasher and Breville coffee machine. Enjoy a meal together in the dining area, seating up to 14 guests.

The ground floor additionally contains two bedrooms, both with king-size beds.

Middle floor:
On the middle floor is another sitting room with wonderful sea views and a bathroom with a bath, overhead shower and separate W.C.

On this floor are three bedrooms, two with king-size beds and one with a small double bed.

Top floor:
The top floor of Westend Place contains two twin bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower and bath, ideal for friends taking a seaside break together.

Garden
Make the most of the fantastic location on Scotland's Sunshine Coast and tuck into an al fresco meal in the garden of Westend Place.

Other
Westend Place welcomes one dog per booking. Please note there is a small additional charge of £30 for this.

Westend Place has a convenient private driveway with parking for one car.

WiFi, central heating and towels and linen are all included in the booking price.

All properties are strictly non-smoking and do not accept hen/stag/party groups. At least one guest must be over 25 years old.

Bookings made at this property require a £500 damage deposit, which will be due 7 days before check-in. Providing there are no deductions to be made from this, the payment will be refunded to your card 5-7 working days after departure.

Please also note complimentary mid-stay cleans (including the provision of fresh linen and towels) will be provided as follows:
Bookings for 14-21 nights will receive one mid-stay clean
Bookings for 21-28 nights will receive two mid-stay cleans
Should you require any further mid-stay cleans or linen and towels provided please note there will be an additional cost for this. Please contact our team to enquire further

Westend Place welcomes you on the ground floor with a sitting room and kitchen and dining area. On this floor, there are two bedrooms plus a bathroom with shower and separate W.C.

On the middle floor is another sitting room and three bedrooms. There is also a bathroom with a bath, overhead shower and separate W.C.

The top floor of the property houses two twin bedrooms and a bathroom with a bath and shower.

Inaccurately Described, Disappointing Experience

We have rented houses in North Berwick for over 30 years, and this is the first time we've been misled and disappointed. When we arrived the house had not been cleaned; it is in terrible condition - leaking drains, filthy carpets, totally rundown. During our stay both the oven and clothes washer broke. We paid a premium to rent a house that should never have been rented in its present state. I hope VRBO will take note and verify their listings' descriptions are accurate.

Great sized property and location - but a wee bit tired

Had a great weekend here, lots of positives about the property, the downsides were: 1. We had to re pressurise the central heating to get the boiler to work 2. The windows were filthy and you couldn't see through them to fully appreciate the views 3. The property is quite tired, especially the kitchen/diner and the downstairs lounge 4. The shower rooms/toilets are very basic and the shower in the first floor has 'stuff' growing around it! Other than the above, it's a great property, well located and fab size, the beds were comfortable and everything worked as it should.
