2/10
I booked a one night stay, check in on May 20th, 2025 and checking out on May 21st, 2025.
Things were ok at first. I was greeted by the front desk staff, room was nice. The night was uneventful.
But the next morning, I woke up to something crawling on me. I looked around the bed and headboard and quickly realized the bed was infested with BED BUGS. So many, that I easily swept four big ones that were full of blood into a cup. I gathered my belongings and went down to the front desk.
We live in Edmonton, and although it’s disgusting, bed bugs happen. HOWEVER, this was not a new infestation. I looked along the cracks in the head board, and there were eggs, tiny bugs, and more big suckers like the ones I caught in the cup.
I arrived at the front desk with my cup of bed bugs and asked for the manager. The front desk person stated that they are the front desk supervisor. I gave them the cup. She looked grossed out, but not surprised, and asked what room I was in. I told her, 5113.
She asked me what I wanted her to do. I told her I at minimum wanted a refund. She asked how I booked, and I said online. She then tried to tell me I needed to call the site I booked through to get a refund. I said absolutely not, I am here in the hotel talking to the front desk staff. It is not my job to secure a refund from a company that offered a terrible experience; it’s theirs. I admittedly became quite heated at this point, words were exchanged, and I left with no assurance of any refund.
