This place was awful. I would not come back for free. Our 1st room smelled so bad of mildew they used over powering chemicals to cover up the odor, we had to move after a long day of travel. Second room still smelled of Mildew, but a little less. They gave me two rooms to check and I picked the one that smelled less. Then the AC broke for two nights and the mildew smell became unbearable. I thought about moving again and one room smelled just as bad and the second one was above the stage where it was going to be super noisy. I wasted so much time trying to find a spot that doesn’t smell. My friend got lucky and her room did not smell. The food is terrible. You can find stuff to eat that is OK, but you’re not gonna be excited about much. The restaurants fill up early and then your only dinner option is the buffet. The booze is bottom shelf. Cheap wine. Only pluses are the staff are super nice and the pools and grounds are pretty.

When we arrived and gained access to our room, our room was not clean. The bed sheets and desks had stains and was not properly cleaned. Thankfully, we’re able to get another room. This room was cleaner but still had its flaws. The main issue was that the AC did not work properly. The food at the property was not very good. There is not a nightlife around the Hotel, which was an issue because I was celebrating a birthday. The property needs to be updated

Cons: The property needed to be update. All furnitures in the room are old and damaged. No lounge chairs, no services of any kind from the resort at the beach. AC was not running well and broke down so the whole resort has no AC at all at the last day. Not much activities going on at nighttime. If you go early to the ones that more upscale restaurants that only serves dinner, they didn’t turn on the AC ahead of opening time so it was so hot inside we were sweating so much to the point of leaving the restaurant before my foods even made it to the table. Same types of foods everyday at the buffets. Pros: The best thing that we love about this resort is the staffs. They were so kind, friendly and went out of their way to please the guests. They worked so hard and kinda sad that not many guests left any tips for their great services. The foods at the 2 buffets were surprisingly good.

First time at the Riu. Outdated, pool was not very clean, there were things floating in the pool. No top shelf liquor, considering how expensive it is to stay at this resort. I have definitely stayed at better resorts, with top shelf liquors for a more reasonable price. Room pillows had stains, and bed was uncomfortable. Could not eat at the restaurants, since it was rented out for a private party. Sadly, that’s what guests pay for, they should be accommodated to have those options. Staff was friendly, but this hotel would not be an option to stay at in the future.

The hotel is not on par with othe RIU properties. Our room was dirty and dated. The toilet smelled and there was an obvious lack of maintenance. Outlets needed service, mold around the sink, cracke purple glass blocks and very dimly lit. Outside maintenance was outstanding. Food was cafeteria grade at best with the same menu every night. The priperty could be great with some better attention to maintenance and better dining options since it was secluded and you really didnt have any other option to eat. The pools were outstanding and drinks were great.

The rooms smelled terribly and were very outdated. The public bahtrooms were sprayed constantly with a very perfume chemical that made my family gag. The food was ok. The pools were nice.

I would like to send a complaint directly to the hotel management. The beach is full of stumps and snags that are not removed. It was a hazardous situation and I broke my toe while walking costing me medical expenses.

The Staff was friendly. But my TV did not work properly. they came to check, but were not able to fix it. The Beach was not convenient and the sand was not as expected. The rooms could have been a bit cleaner.

Location was great minus road to access very bumpy...car massage all employees we delt with were friendly accommodating and very helpful from housekeeping to bartenders check in to check out amazing staff. Rooms are a bit dated but ours was very clean and our housekeeper was excellent. To be able to safely walk the beach to monkey's bar see the howlers and the capuchin monkeys...tours we did direct from hotel with dive carib excellent...really enjoyed our stay resort staff and foid...as well as massage with karoline and lety near the beach...just the best

Rooms were dirty. Broken faucets and broken power plugs. Shower was really outdated. There were spiders on the ceiling. Room was smelling very bad when we checked in. We were there for just 2 days so didn't bother much to complain about it. Never going back to this hotel again.

Property was Very dated... Clean and pretty well kept, but straight from the 1980's. Dining lines and wait times were ridiculous. Also it was so loud in most common areas you could not hear yourself think. And I'm not that old!
