I was looking for a rustic cabin in the mountains. This was reasonably priced so I booked it and overall I’m not extremely disappointed. However, there were a couple issues 1. I checked in a single female. While it was super convenient that the key was sitting in the unlocked lobby for me to pick up at any time, I was nervous about the security of this. My name and cabin were on display for anyone to see (let alone take a key!). 2. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The cabin was rustic, which I was fine with, but I woke up multiple times in the night because my hips hurt. 3. While the property was clear about it being a residential area (and the surrounding views were gorgeous!), I was disappointed at how tightly packed together the cabins were. The main reason this bothered me was because I could not open the curtains to enjoy the view without the cabin next to me being able to glance in. (And again, single female with poor security…this skeeved me out a bit). Overall, the area was pretty and the amenities were adequate. I ended up not showering during my stay because I would have had to duck the entire time.

The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need to cook and clean. A free bundle of wood was available for a fire in the fireplace. I received a text letting me know our room was done early and how to check in. The room was clean and cozy. We will definitely return.

We stayed in the bluebird which shared a wall with another unit. Shared walls were described as sound proof, unfortunately that was not accurate. Both mornings the people next door were up at 5am and it sounded as if they were stomping and running through their unit and across the roof. It was terribly loud and lasted from 5am to 8am. They were also smoking on the screened porch which can't into our unit and had a dog that was rather irritating. My understanding was that units were smoke and pet free, but I could have been wrong. Their general lack of respect for those around them was not the fault of the facility, however, the thin walls were not fantastic at 5am. Facilities were overall clean, but dated and we never saw someone that we could have brought our concerns to regarding our weekend neighbors.

For the rates they charge for this cabin I find the whole experience unacceptable. The pots and pans in this cabin are worn out, were dirty, some had baked on food and the others have teflon flaking off. Unusable. The gas heater near the dining/bedroom area exhausts into the cabin because it is not drafting the exhaust properly. The porch light was out for the entire three days we stayed and was not replaced. There was never anyone in the office to communicate any of this to. The floors are uneven and cracked. Of the two electric heaters provided only one was partiality operational. The only outlet in the bedroom area does not work but they did leave a dirty extension cord which I suppose was meant to be draped across the cabin to where power was needed. The dish rack was filthy. The dishes were dirty. We cleaned them before we checked out but shouldn’t the proprietors at least check them before someone else checks in? The kitchen sponge was worn out and dirty/moldy. We had to go buy a dish rag. The TV has a broken speaker and is terrible to listen to. The only seating in the “tv” room in the front entrance of the cabin was a twin bed. Many windows have broken screens and locks. The oven and refrigerator were fine. The bed seemed clean once we removed the dirty blankets and used one we brought with us.

The place is truly a gem. It’s closer to the entrance of the RMNP, which we found to be convenient, and not in the hustle and bustle of the town. Location is busy during the day but gets quiet in the evenings, we could hear elk bugling in the mountains, which we enjoyed. Cozy cottage gives you a mountain feel. Would definitely recommend this place and will return!

Cute private cabins very close to the Rocky Mountain National park. Pet friendly was a plus for us. We saw deer, rabbits and elk nearby almost as soon as we arrived! Also close to several good restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying here.
