“We came this gorgeous massive house with our kids and in laws. Everything was absolutely amazing! Not only is this house spacious and beautiful, but it has everything you need to keep kids entertained: pool table, ping pong, darts, golden 2025 live big buck hunger games! “This was a perfect cottage experience - the house itself is so charming and well kept but what puts it over the top is the location! It is literally minutes from the wonderful forest trails or the lake. You can't go wrong with a walk in either direction! And it is an easy walk to the beach park and Village! I stayed two weeks to work on a writing project and could have stayed longer. Two of my favorite features of the house are the electric fireplace indoors and the gas fire pit on the porch.……

“We met a group of 4 other friends/couples including 7 kids/teens for a February long weekend. The house was easy to find and there was plenty of parking in the driveway. It snowed 2 nights we were there, and by 10am the sidewalk & driveway had been shoveled both mornings! There was plenty of space for kids to spread out, play games and be loud without affecting the adults (& vice versa). “A truly memorable weekend was had celebrating our patriarch's 80th birthday on Silver Lake! The cottage was clean, spacious and cozy, and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. We would absolutely rent again!”

“House was very nice and updated throughout. Felt very big and spacious inside even for our big group. Well stocked with everything needed including kitchen, games, and plenty of linens. Cruiser bikes were a fun touch. Bunk room was perfect for the kids. We were there in late fall, so didnt get to enjoy much of the outdoor space or lake, but would love to come back in the summer because it all looked fantastic. “I spent every summer of my childhood in Oakwood, so I know the cottage well. It used to belong to Rev. Ross Cook. My grandparents were George and Marie Cook (no relation to Rev. “Historic building, don't be fooled by the old elevator and hallways that are not updated. When we first walked into the suite we were blown away. It this suite has been beautifully restored and has all the modern touches as well. Beds were comfortable and walking distance to almost everything. We would definitely stay here again. ”
