Escape to our Happy Place in Carlton Landing!
Our Story- in 2014 shortly after losing our third child - Evans, a friend threw us the keys to their condo in Florida and told us, “Get away, go heal as a family in our happy place!”. On that trip, we vowed that one day we would own a home where families could escape to make memories and heal! We would like to welcome you and your family to Evans Escape.
This bright, spacious, newly remodeled home features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, screened in back porch w/ fireplace & dining, a backyard ready for s’mores, BBQ & late-night conversations, beautiful front porch with porch swing & second story porch w/ seating & an additional swing. Getting away as a family, with a group of friends, for a business retreat or to celebrate a special occasion, Evans Escape comfortably accommodates 14 guests, whether you’re a family w/ children or professionals on a business trip, this home is perfect for both!
A bright & spacious, open floor plan joins the living, dining, and kitchen area. You’ll love the open gourmet kitchen, equipped with premium stainless-steel appliances. Seating for 6 at the large bar allows those prepping & cooking not to miss out on time w/ their guests & families can easily serve kids. The nearby dining area offers seating for at least 8 guests. Comfortable & inviting furnishings make the living area a wonderful place to relax after a long day in the sun; guests can choose to watch the large screen tv or play games as they hang or simply chill w/ music of their choice playing on the in-home entertainment surround speakers. The spacious mudroom & laundry room open into the screened in outdoor living/dining space which offers seating for six, plus a fireplace. This outdoor living opens up to a fenced in backyard with a brick fireplace, grill and comfy outdoor furniture, that seats 4, a place to enjoy roasting smores, grilling out & late-night conversations. The main king suite with an attached bath is located on the first floor & includes a crib & large flat screen tv.
On the second floor are three guest rooms offering a variety of sleeping arrangements. The beautiful primary suite boasts a lavish king bed and a spacious ensuite bathroom. The second guest room features a queen. The bunk room offers a two built-in bunk beds - for a total of 4 queens & plenty of floor space. All 3 rooms have tvs & the second room & bunk share a full bath. The landing space outside of the rooms opens into a spacious balcony porch, w/ swing & spacious individual seating where the views & peaceful sounds invite guests to curl up w/ a book, enjoy their morning cup of coffee or take that long awaited vacation nap.
Location, location! Guests will be steps away from The Meeting House, Boardwalk Pool and Spa and short walk to Mama Tigs and The Marina. Evans Escape is centrally located on the main street in town - Boulevard.

We had a group of 8 girls and the house was perfect for a quiet weekend with plenty of room for us to veg out! Close to town center! Perfect location!

Beautiful house
The house and decorations were beautiful, very clean looking with a few pops of color.
Cons: There were a few issues though. We were there for 4 nights and were only provided with one towels per person, so laundry had to be done daily to wash the dirty towels and the house was super dusty and not completely clean (trash on the floor, hair on the floor in the bathrooms that had been swept into the corners, broken dishwasher and garbage disposal). There was also a lady and dog also staying on the property above the garage that was not disclosed when or even after booking. It was very strange and made us very uncomfortable. They also did not provide propane for the grill, which was a part of the listing.
Pros: the beds were very comfortable and there was ample room in the main area to congregate and enjoy each others company. Everything about the living area I loved!! The queen sized bunk beds were a huge treat for our “adult” children and I loved how everything besides a few things were white, it really was gorgeous!! Super close to the water and mama tigs and other fun things, as well as super close to the pool. We all really enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful stay
We had a wonderful stay at this home. I had seen a few negative reviews about a tenant over the garage and bad communication with property management, and I became a little worried. Well, I shouldn’t have worried. If there was a tenant, never did we even see or hear one. The property was clean, beautiful, and quiet. The management property messaged me several times to check on how everything was going and to make sure we knew we could contact them if there were any issues. We had 3 families that stayed over the weekend and we really enjoyed our time at this home.

Poor management
The house was Great! Lakestay management company not so much! Outdoor fireplace did not work neither did the dish washer. The house was left in good condition but I was called and told otherwise, when I asked for pictures they could not provide them. The house was great I feel bad giving a negative review because it is not the owners fault.

Maybe Reconsider….
I struggled with whether to leave a review or not. The house itself is so pretty.
The positives: Beds are comfortable, the decor is darling and location is wonderful. Plenty of room for all. We loved what the owners said about wanting to provide rest and relaxation - it sounded like just what our family needed. We also have lost children to recurrent miscarriage, so my heart went out to them - we could relate.
The negatives: There is brand-new construction right in back of the house. Our family booked this vacation house for some much needed R&R. The first two mornings, loud banging/hammering began at 7am.
Secondly, we spent over an hour trying to figure out how to watch the TV’s (World Cup). Once we finally were able to access it (we had to find the channel on our iPad and mirror onto the tv) the screen quality was so poor - our boys were so upset. Even the least expensive motel rooms have TV’s. The other TV’s in the bedroom didn’t really work.
Last, there is a tenant above the garage on property. He growled at our teenage boys for playing soccer in the backyard. Had we known about the TV’s, early morning construction and the tenant, we would have booked elsewhere. My husband was so frustrated that we left one day early. He wanted to get a good night’s rest and not be awakened at 7am - it was worth forgoing the $600 to him. I emailed the manager the day we left and haven’t heard a response. (?)
It’s really unfortunate; it’s a great property.

Beautiful home
The home was beautiful and comfortably fit our large blended family. We emailed about an early check in and received an answer in a timely manner. We arrived and the check in was easy and the home was clean and ready. The kitchen was decently stocked but I was glad we had brought some things with us such as salt and pepper as there was nothing like that in the home. The downstairs master bedroom had a TV but we could not use it because the cable box/internet connection had been removed. The living room TV had internet so we were able to access things like Netflix but could not get any local channels. I would say the TVs were our only complaint. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I would love to rent this property again in the future.

We loved the house. It was comfortable and clean. The community is great. Our only complaint is that it should have been disclosed to us as renters that there’s someone who lives above the garage on the property. It wasn’t a big deal but I booked this property over another one for this exact reason only to find out this one was the same scenario.

Great place for a family get together.
