Charming and Cozy!

This house is so charming! We visited for Thanksgiving to celebrate with our local friends & family. This space was perfect for housing our family of 7 and ideal for hosting dinner with our local guests. There's plenty of room. The beds are comfy and warm. The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots, pans, and supplies we needed to prepare dinner for 11 and the dining room table fit all of us perfectly! The location near the freeway was ideal for traveling into and through Eureka, as well as to nearby nature and amenities, while also being nice and quiet in the evening. We would love to rent this house again for future trips!

Happy in Humboldt

The house was adequate and comfortable enough…however it had many strange quirks that made the stay less enjoyable. The sink, shower, and bathroom upstairs were very short. Both bathrooms had no locks. The doorknobs on the bedrooms kept falling off. Street noise was considerable. Beds were very creaky. No dishwasher. Pluses…good size, fun character, fireplace, cool horse next door.

Easy check in- close to freeway, 2 families of 4. Bedrooms are upstairs- 2 big bathrooms. Beautiful home, small kitchen but well stocked.

Nice house convenient to highway

We stayed here for a wedding, and it was incredibly convenient to be close to the major roads so that we could get to and from all our various spread out events. The house had lots of space for family and it was easy to find and park. All the rooms were cute and there were plenty of towels and blankets etc, and they even left chocolates for the kids! We only had one question and when we asked we got a response right away. Definitely an easy stay.

Wonderful Stay in Eureka, CA

This VRBO fit all our needs. Beautiful antique decor throughout house. Well stocked kitchen, plates, silverware and surprises from property management that was very welcoming after a 5 hour long drive. Carole was very sweet and attentive to my questions, she gave me a call each time. All the bedrooms were very comfortable to sleep in. The only circumstance that we noticed is the street the house on is very busy with cars during the day but does quiet down in the evening and night. Making for a very relaxing sitting on the wrap around porch. I enjoyed everything about my VRBO. Thank you Carole.

Family getaway

The house was perfect for our trip. Location is just south of Eureka only a minute off the 101. Cool old house with everything you need. My granddaughter loved the horses next door. Would stay here again.

Bayview House

Wonderful historic home. We loved reading about the history of the home and the family that built it. Great ocean/sunset views on the second story. The linens and the kitchen were well stocked. The weather was so nice that the house always felt “just right” (not too hot, not too cold). It was a great place to stay for our adventures in Redwood Park. We really enjoyed our time here!

Great stay at a nice old classic home.

The property and the management were great. Nice cozy home with no surprises. As mentioned in another review, the outside traffic is more than desired, but not distracting when inside. Definitely recommend this property.

Cute home

Even though we only stayed for a short time, the home was a great place for me and my friends to stay. The house had plenty of towels and kitchen wares to make sleeping and eating enjoyable. We also enjoyed the neighbor’s horses and wandering cat outside in the garden.

Well Maintained Historical House

My family and I traveled from 3 different cities to "meet in the middle." This house was perfect for what we needed! We loved the history of the house, as well as the updated features. The road was busy, but it did not take away from the trip. The side yard was perfect for parking and still big enough for us to play baseball with the kids. We would recommend this house to anyone!

Quaint, and taken care of. Has the old house charm of a Victorian, with modern amenities. The floors creek with age, front porch was a little buoyant near the front door, but that just adds to charm of the house in my opinion. Had fun discovering little things around the house that gave clues to what the house must of been like when the family who built it lived there. The beds were not supper comfy, but then I have an orthopedic bed at home, so I am hard to please. Overall great house!!!

Seven Reasons to Stay Here

(1) Super convenient to Eureka, Redwoods, Ocean, State Parks. (2) Historical home. Very comfortable. Well kept and tastefully decorated. (3) Treats left for us... cinnamon rolls, strawberry, wine, water... thank you. (4) Plenty of room for family to hand out and spread out. Cozy. (5) Well-equipped kitchen. (6) Excellent outdoor spaces for hanging out and playing. Covered porch. (7) Comfortable beds. A Couple Tips: (1) Bring kids to do the dishes. No dishwasher. (2) Shower downstairs is better.
