I checked into my room, which had two queen-sized beds. When I used the restroom, I discovered that the toilet was completely clogged. I called the front desk using the phone provided in the room, but as soon as I explained the issue, the front desk agent hung up on me.
To address the situation in person, I took the elevator from the fourth floor down to the lobby. I remained reasonable and simply asked whether they could send someone to fix it or switch me to a different room, as I had just checked in a few hours ago. To my surprise, the staff member responded rudely, went to the janitor’s closet, grabbed a plunger, handed it to me, and said, “fix it yourself.”
This was the first time I had ever been told to handle my own plumbing at a hotel! For the record, I didn’t clog the toilet as i I had just arrived.
