The outside of the Falmouth Hotel was very welcoming and looked lovely. We checked in smoothly with very helpful staff. We stayed in room 115 and was disappointed at the overall decor of the room. It looked tired and could do with extra cleaning around the windows and the door needed to be completed ie paint. There were also stains on the carpet. Unfortunately attention to detail wasn't there. The room was extremely hot, making it uncomfortable. We did use the fan supplied which was noisy at night. The bar and lounge area looked nice and appealing and the outside area was lovely with plenty of tables.

All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room we had was very tired and in need of an upgrade / basic repairs, however the hotel is undergoing a general revamp. The location is fantastic with lovely outdoor seating at the front.

L’hotel storico del 1865 occupa una splendida posizione di fronte a Castle Beach a due passi dai negozi e ristoranti di Falmouth. Ha un ampio parcheggio, una palestra e piscina per chi non vuole affrontare il fondale roccioso della spiaggia. Camera pulita con macchina del caffè/tè e biscotti di benvenuto. Niente male la colazione a buffet nel vecchio salone. Ha anche un bel bar e il servizio ristorante. Personale gentile e disponibile

Everything was fine. The wifi was a bit slow and clunky, the lift was very slow, just the one for such a big hotel. The breakfast set up was good, the room was comfortable and quiet. I would stay there again if I were in the area.

If you like old-style hotel, you will love it, if you prefer a new fancy one this place is not for you. The bed was so comfortable. Food was good, a lot of staff, quick service. Location is perfect, as it is on the beach.

Very tidy everywhere and my room was clean and bed made up every day. Most of the staff where nice and helpful and smiled at you but there was one on reception who needs to learn to smile more. Pleasant stay.

First impression of the property from the outside very grand and quite ionic building however upon entering I felt as though I was stepping into see my mother in geriatric home Property has been neglected from tender living care. It is outdated in certain parts of the building inside.

Beautiful old building which has been partially renovated. The single room I had was functional but I look forward to hopefully having one which has been “done up” on my next visit. Great location. Restaurant, bar and Reception stand I dealt with were outstanding. Service excellent. Friendly and extremely helpful.

When we arrived and were shown to our room it was very disappointing. It was nothing like the photos on the website, very tired, stained furniture. We paid extra for a sea view but the window was chest height so although there was a view you had to be standing up to appreciate it. The windows barely opened as there was a bunk bed built in to the corner of the room level with the window sill so would be a safety issue but still it was boiling in there. Very old furniture, very old small tv. We had booked for 8 nights and my heart sank. I went straight to reception and they were fantastic. Gave us a voucher for some drinks in the bar and promised to move us the following day, which they did. Breakfast was an experience. You wait to be seated then there’s the longest wait for coffee, tea and whatever you’ve ordered, after waiting for someone to take your order in the first place. On the first morning, the continental breakfast consisted. of 2 croissants and some pieces of cheese and some ham. The juice had run out altogether! Very unsatisfactory in this day and age and especially for £200 per night! The carpets in the corridors are worn. The pool area is not particularly inviting, quite dark and not smart at all. The saving grace to this hotel is the fantastic lady on reception. She greeted us every day with a smile and a chat. Offered information in the local area, she herself is Ukrainian. We deliberately missed breakfast on 3 occasions and had breakfast elsewhere.

Great birthday break

Loved our room, lots of space, king size bed, sitting area inside and a great balcony with sea view. Great place to watch the world go by and relax, and 15 mins to bars and restaurants. Easy access to coastal path
