“We loved our stay! Tim and Bridget have put lots of love into updating this house while keeping much of its original charm, like built-in shelves. My husband, our daughter and I had plenty of space, even with our daughter's dog. We had treats awaiting us: items for s'mores for us and a dog biscuit in the bowl for Bagel. The street is so quiet that it's hard to believe we were in a town. City in the front; country in the back! The location was perfect because we were within 20 minutes of several……

“In a neat city and region along the Mississippi lies this lovely house, re-visited by us again, and found to be just as clean and well prepped as on previous occasions. Our host's communications were prompt and enjoyable, leaving nothing to be desired.With spring progressing the town(s) in the area seemed to come alive in anticipation of summer, all contributing to a wonderful stay. Highly recommended and we will certainly come back as soon as possible.”

“We have stayed at the Elkader Jail House many times and the Harstad Suite is a great room for the 4 of us. The large kitchen and family space on the first floor provide plenty of space for everyone to get together and relax. Its nearby my family and takes the stress off anyone needing to make space for all of us to sleep. Its comfortable, clean and an easy to walk downtown. We'll be back soon!”

“Awesome little place on the river. Fishing was good, quiet and really enjoyed the fire pit. Located next to train tracks and trains rolled through a couple times in the early morning, didn’t really bother us though as we knew the tracks were there when we booked it. Overall, great place!”

“This is our 4th year of coming to PDC for an adults trip but the first staying here. The location could not have been better - we could easily walk to most bars, restaurants and shopping. The house had plenty of room for all of us - we will booking here again next year!”
