We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, in the historic district of Florence. We were there for 5 days. The location is great, walking distance to most sites of interest in Florence. The hotel is on the upper floors of a beautiful old palazzo on a picturesque street where all the designer brands have their storefronts. It’s very nice to just walk around the area.
The room was nice and quiet. We were given the option to choose our room, and each room is unique. Our room was quaint, with quirky and eclectic decor, and the bathroom was updated and beautiful, with a separate bidet. Because it’s an old building, the rooms of the hotel, including the office and breakfast lounge, were spread out and we had to take the hallways and stairs connecting them to get around. From the ground floor, we rode the elevator to the third floor and then went up half a flight to get to the room. The keys are the old fashioned metal keys & are a little bulky.
There is a very nice veranda on the top floor overlooking the rooftops and a couple of the cathedrals of Florence. The veranda is a lounge with comfortable chairs and some tables where you can sit and relax and order drinks. There also is a nice outdoor patio off the breakfast lounge. Breakfast is excellent! Their apple pie is the best. I couldn’t resist having a slice to bring with me on our last day.
The staff are all very nice and helpful, from the reception, to buffet staff, housekeeping staff, and
porters.
