I liked the size of the unit as well as the kitchenette. However, my husband &I were quite thrown by the 9+ review rating. From what I saw in the photos as well as the price, I know it was not a typical motel & expected some oddities. But I also expected it to match the 9+ rating, which we believe it did not. The pullout soda bed was broken & had a protruding metal bar across the middle like any I had ever experienced, w/a thin mattress. I ended up sleeping on the couch. (There was a cot in the bedroom closet, but my family was already asleep & did not want to wake them.) The entrance to the unit leads outside; there is only the little turn knob lock on the handle for security. The deadbolt did not work from the inside. The mini golf was a small rectangle turf with a hole at one end with dirt. We arrived to check in a little after 7pm (after hours) and there was no one on property representing the motel. Not a huge deal, but this left us w/no way to get pool towels. Maybe our fault for not asking when we received check-in instructions… idk. The motels to the left & right also looked run down &old. The area overall was just ok. I did not feel unsafe with my husband and daughter walking to the beach, but would not walk around at night. Now the good things; The AC in the kitchen & bedroom worked well. Master bed was comfy. Price was good. Pool was nice, nothing fancy. No frills, as expected. I would give and honest rating of 7.
