I booked a stay at The Lauderdale Boutique Hotel & Suites, completed the ID verification as requested, and even called ahead to confirm check-in details. I was explicitly told I could head to the property and access my room(around 11am on check in date). So I left where I was comfortably settled, made my way over — only to find the code didn’t work.
When I called back (around noon), I was told early check-in requires an extra fee. This was never mentioned during the earlier call. After explaining the situation, they offered me a “complimentary” 3 PM check-in — which, at that point, was only two hours away. It’s 1 PM, I’m here with my luggage, and they’re acting like this is some kind of generous gesture?
What’s worse is there’s been no real ownership of the mistake. The team clearly miscommunicated, and rather than take responsibility and make it right, they’re just deflecting.
