“The hotel and grounds are gorgeous. A lot of thought went into the design and it shows. We loved the open modern feel of the room and view of the Hudson was amazing. We also loved the electric shades allowing an almost blackout experience. The staff was very accommodating. They filled our small cooler with ice daily since they don’t have a public ice maker. “I loved it and will only stay there when I’m in the area again! I totally dug the old school 50s-60s charm of the decor, nice spacious grounds with benches and seats for relaxing, super friendly and helpful front desk service and my room was spotless. “I'm not giving it one star because the place met my expectations, which were quite low at the outset. The cottage was of mid-century design that is badly in need of renovation (broken fixtures, uncovered electrical outlets, mold/mildew growth in the bathroom). It was a non-smoking room, but clearly people were smoking there. I think the place was emblematic of the Catskills as an area that once was a great place to visit, but has fallen into disrepair over the past several decades. ”

“Laureen was very hospitable. She accomodated us every step of the way. There were clean sheets, comforters, pillows and sets of towels arranged in the room. The bathroom was also clean and there was hot water. Laureen checked in on us to see how we slept and if our needs were met. She made a delicious hot breakfast consisting of blueberry pancakes and eggs how we like them served with tea, coffee or water. Lastly, the landlord/hostess, Laureen, always had positive vibes and friendly at all……
