Cozy 1 bedroom w/ loft log cabin . 7 min to French Lick, 15 min to Patoka Lake!

427 sq ft log cabin ( NOT handicapped accessible) , sleeps 4 (queen bed downstairs & 2 XL twin beds in the loft) FIBER 1 gig Internet . For those wanting a rustic/rugged type get away with privacy but want to be close to town. Located off ST RD 56 just a 7 minute drive to French Lick! Less than 2 miles to the Donald Ross Golf Course! Smoking allowed outdoors only! Pets are allowed but there is a $25 pet fee per stay for them. Property has access to 55 wooded acreas with trails to hike. Terrain is rugged and can be challenging for some. Bathroom with step in shower. Kitchenette features apartment size refrigerator, microwave, 2 burner induction cook top, waffle maker and egg cooker. Coffee pot uses K cups (8 assorted provided per stay). Out door park style charcoal grill for the grill masters. There is a small pond on the property close to the highway. You can fish if you like. It was stocked with Hybrid bluegill & catfish recently which are growing at a slow rate as the pond is spring fed and very cool year round. There is however 1 large mouth bass who is likely to become a legend in many a fish story in the future. If you do catch him and have him mounted please let me know so I can replace him. You can also spend hours animal watching as this property has a wide variety of wildlife to be seen. Take a walk on the 1.5 miles of rugged trails on the property. Linens and a starter kit of 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper, soap/shampoo and disposable salt/pepper shakers are furnished. Cellular service is available inside the cabin when you enable wi-fi calling. Otherwise cellular service can be reached at the top of the hill behind the cabin. High speed fiber internet will allow you to stream videos, music, tv and movies on the Roku TV. You can work from the cabin if you like on your laptop or tablet.
Nicholson Valley, a rural grocery store, is 1 mile to the west providing quick and easy access to essentials, food, hunting, and/or fishing supplies. Downtown French Lick is a 7 minute drive to the east. Lots of area for parking boats or trailers. The nearest boat ramp is Lick Fork Marina which is a 15 minute drive across county roads.

Please note... There is a cave on the property with access strictly prohibited. Those with small children need to make certain they are aware they are not allowed to enter the cave as it is a small tight passage frequented by wild animals (bobcats) and is frequently flooded from rains far to the north. Also no ATVs or off road vehicles are allowed to be utilized on the property. This includes no biking on the trails. Call 812-639-4797 for questions regarding the cabin.

Location
The cabin is more of a hunting lodge. The location is not very good. Right off the highway. The driveway is lacking gravel and is uneven. There is not a good path to walk from your vehicle to the cabin. A person could fall easily. Not worth the price.

Anniversary weekend getaway
Loved the little cabin! It was exactly what my husband and I were wanting for our anniversary weekend. The fall mountain feel but not that far of a drive. Love that it was 6 minutes from French Lick and 25 minutes to Patoka. Cabin was clean and cozy and loved the country setting! Will definitely be back 😄

Fishing getaway
We drove by the drive on the way up 56, but look for the well house columns and you’ll be able to find it. We were hoping to do some fishing and relax by a pond in nature but were saddened to find that the pond is probably 20-30yards from the road and being a state route was highly traveled. With that said we did catch 27 fish (3 small catfish, 2 8” Bass and 22 bluegills all very small. We ended up throwing all them back. We had fun but was very noisy at pond. Cabin was very clean and had an awesome countertop and coffee table. Rooms were good size but no where to put clothes, so glad we were only staying a couple nights. Fridge and kitchen were very nice. The hosts were very awesome and allowed us to metal detect on the property but we only conquered an eighth of an acre. Be prepared for rugged terrain. All in all we had a good time at cabin stay but with a few disappointments. Would stay again for sure knowing what to expect.

Beautiful Serenity
We had a wonderful family vacation! Downtime in the woods, teaching their children how to enjoy nature and spend time together as a family was wonderful! The cabin was absolutely meticulous! Everything we needed was provided, and then some! I’ve stayed in hotels that weren’t that nice! We would definitely come back and we recommended it to our friends!

Weekend Getaway
We wanted somewhere a little off the normal hotel with room to roam. This was perfect! We were able to grill on site and have campfires. It was a 45 minute drive to Holiday World were we spent Saturday. The boys enjoyed hiking and fishing. We will stay again so we can explore French Lick and the surrounding tourist caves.

The cabin itself was immaculate. Air tight and beautifully furnished. While we appreciated all the firewood left, it was in kinda a shambled heap of boxes and bags. A shed to store the mower and other implements left behind would be nice. We were disappointed that the beautiful cabin set so close to the highway. We enjoyed the woods, but never felt like we were in the woods due to the highway.

Quaint Getaway
The quaint getaway was a nice place to visit. I loved the clean little cabin that had just what you needed. The trails on the property are nice. I wish the cabin was a little further away from the state road, although there is plenty of privacy.

Pictures do not do this place justice!
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend stay here following our elopement. The cabin is gorgeous and the pics just don’t do it justice. We had a mix of beautiful and rainy weather, on the nice days we hiked and drank a couple margaritas on one of the benches up the top trail. Threw the fishing line in for a bit which was really fun even though we didn’t catch anything. On the rainy day we sat on the porch for a while then snuggled up and watched football - the mifi jet pack is a great idea and we had no issues streaming. We will definitely come back!

Great variety of things to do, nice cabin
The property provides a great variety of things to do....firepit for S'mores, trail network for walks in the woods, pond for fishing, and the cabin itself, which is in really good shape. Julie was incredibly responsive, even responding quickly when we inadvertently locked ourselves out of the cabin. We would return and recommend this property as a nice place for a family break!
