Check in process (with a prepaid reservation) was way more difficult than it needed to be. Would have been nice if the TV worked, but it is a Motel 6 and they did leave the light on.

When I arrived to the hotel I knew this was going to be an “interesting” stay. It started with “shady” activities going on in a number of cars in the parking lot. Once I parked and was walking towards the lobby I noticed that a woman was almost completely leaning out a window on the second floor . Once I got inside the staff at the desk was pleasant and helpful but while he was trying to put the room key in the little card holder he licked the card holder and then slid the key inside. I took the elevator to the second floor and heard an elevator make noises that I’m pretty sure no elevator should ever make. I’m pretty sure I got a contact high walking down the hallway to the room. Once in the room I noticed quite a bit of things… when I turned the light on it took a few seconds to turn on. It flickered for a second or two (all the lights did) the door looked like it had been kicked in and to fill the gaps between the door and door frame there was foam glued to the frame. The side table that was attached to the wall was severely slanted downward, if you placed a pen on it, it would have rolled right off. The fire/smoke alarm on the ceiling had exposed wires and was held to the ceiling with tape. There was a huge piece of floor missing on the left side of the bed. It looked like claw marks running down the floor. Despite all of that on the plus side. The shower was clean and the bed didn’t look dirty. Although I was too afraid to check it. Who knows what I would have found.

Sub par Motel 6.

There was a roach crossing the hallway on first floor as I arrived. After trying to reset my brain I went to my room on second floor and killed a roach that was by the door (2nd roach I have seen at this point). Later I killed a small spider in my room (221). Hair shavings all over the plastic from the cups and water buckets (my hair is not black). See pictures! In the end - sleep was good. Hopefully no critters set up camp in my belongings….
Roach I killed was in my room but I wiped it off my foot here.
Ice bucket is beside the seat. Hair shavings left thereon from previous guest(s). I threw it in the trash bc apparently they won’t.

Meh

It was just ok. I chose it because it was the closest pet friendly hotel to the naval air station. No frills. No kleenex, hair dryer or in-room coffee maker. However my biggest issue was with the creepy guy parked right outside the side door who was always in his car smoking or doing God knows what. I chose to park on the less convenient side of the hotel to avoid having to walk by him.
