“The photos shown online do not match the reality of the property. The large reception and dining area are no longer used. Units are tired, especially bathrooms. No shower caddy or soap dish to put anything on. Was given a hairdryer when asked. Did some laundry which was very reasonably priced but room was very shabby. Staff at reception were excellent and always helpful. Footscray is an interesting ethnic area. Very close to central Melb and 20 min walk to train station. Quite different eating……

“Need a bit walking from tram station, but it’s quiet and I fell safe at the area. Mind that there’s occasionally sirens sounds, as there’s police station nearby and a fire station next to the hotel. Staff are nice and fluent checkin. The room was generally clean, but we have no shower gel at the first two night, and they don’t refill tissue paper. Of course we can ask for them, but I think they can be more careful and attentive. I was living on 4th floor, and sometimes there’s sound of water……

“An amazing great-value find. Nervous about shared amenities? Don’t be, the bathrooms are spacious, private and spotless, always. The bedroom was on the Small side but one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. We-appointed with desk & TV, it was quiet and peaceful. "Very good location close to Southern Cross station and supermarket. Very clean. Amenities are Australian standard (basic level but enough for use). The room is comfy, equipped with a fridge. Breakfast really does not worth going!!! I am on discount but still don't find it worthy. only basic cereals, toasts, egg, beans, milk, coffee machine. For AUD 15 (regular price) and with staff serving the food, they should make more variety of food and make it a better part of the hotel service...."

Excellent stay in Dorsett Melbourne
"Great check in experience even though I arrived an hour earlier than the check in time. The room is ready, quiet and clean. It is just 10 mins walk from Southern Cross station where you can take air bus to the airport. 5 mins walk to tram station which is free to access to CBD ( walk is 20 mins). 15 mins walk to QVM.
It is also amazing to have a bottle of wine as a VIP of hotel.com
