Ice Cold Reception at the Argo Inn
I made my 1-night reservation through Expedia for a single King room, then called about 10 days before arrival to switch to a 2-Queen room since my (grown) son decided to join me for the trip. We arrived at about 6:30 pm March 14, 2025 and were greeted indifferently by the desk clerk. No big deal – I gave my name and picked up my key.
Upon entering the room, I saw that it had a single King bed. I walked back to the office to explain that I had changed the reservation to a 2-Queen, and he said he didn’t know about any change and he didn’t have a 2-Queen room. I told him I had spoken to someone more than a week ago, and she said she would make the change for an extra charge. He said he didn’t know anything about that. I pulled out my phone, recited the phone number I had called 10 days earlier (303-567-4473), and asked if that was the right number.
Desk clerk: “I don’t know”.
Me: “Are you telling me you don’t know the phone number of the place you work?”
Desk clerk: (shrug).
Me: “Do you think I’m lying to you about this?”
Desk clerk: “I don’t think it happened”.
Me: “Can I at least have your name?”
Desk clerk: “No”.
Me: “Is there some reason why you won’t give me your name?”
Desk clerk: “I don’t want to be slandered.”
I have a photo of “Mr. Hospitality”, in case management is interested.
